Re: The ghost is back in the machine

I was getting errors in my logs with the MPU requesting resends. I tried everything that I found on this forum. I solved the issue by using the USB to Ethernet adapter that came with my laptop. The problem went away and has not come back. This is the first mention, I think, that you are using a lap...

Re: Doesnt work with MACH3?

I've used Mach3 and I've used Acorn. While you don't need the Pro software to use Acorn, that $160 extra for the Pro software will be quickly forgotten after you use Acorn for a week. Having used Mach 3 as well, I thought it was great until I built my mill with Centroid and Acorn. I liked it so muc...

Re: Voltage on DB25

Oh for God's sake Marty, you just can't wait to post that can you? All I have asked is whether 0.8v on pin 4 is an indication that something is fried. A photo of my lathe isn't going to help. If it is what type of photo do you want to see? Shall I just keep taking photos until you post something ot...

Re: "Z axis Max Rate Exceeded" error

Z axis max rate is set to 20 but not sure what the thread pitch is that you are cutting. Maybe 20 is too low?

Re: B axis rotation is very slow

Mike, I'm not sure if you are using MM or Imperial but either way rotary 4th axis set up a bit odd. Instead of Inches per minute a rotary axis is in degrees per minute! So Check you Min and Max feed rate settings and see what you have them set to. For example if you set the Max feed rate to 150 thin...

Re: Spindle direction

Thanks ... So is that done by one (or two) of the 8x configurable outputs on acorn board by setting one of the output to switch on on command m3 and switch off on m4 or other way around?
You should have those set as defaults but yes, you can configure them manually if needed.

Re: Spindle direction

M3 command closes the relay that tells the drive to rotate forward. M4 closes the relay that tells the drive to rotate in reverse. M5 is stop. (both relays open) This is a basic two relay setup, there are other ways to go forward or reverse but all done by a VFD or Servo. All spindle motion is contr...

Re: Acorn + Clearpath success stories?

I count 11 resistors in the pictures!

Should be 2 on X, 2 on Y and 2 on Z. Step and direction only!

Re: Teknic Power4-Hub

Maybe Teknic could offer up “cable kits” for those of us who are the DIY type. A bag of connectors and pins for each cable and you order the length of cable you need. A simple diagram is all you need to make your own cables. It’s really not rocket science after all. That would be of great help! Dav...
