Re: Harrison m300 with acorn centroid control
I think I will do both. So you can have toolpost and gang setup. I'm making the whole carriage from scratch anyway. As all I got was headstock and ways when I acquired it. I'm just on the hunt for a tee slotted table or similar to make the cross slide from.

Re: Harrison m300 with acorn centroid control
Hi Dave, I've not decided yet but think i'm swaying towards a gang lathe setup, where you can have different pallets of tools say 5 or 6 on 1 pallet. Seems cheaper, easier and more accurate to me. All advice welcomed though.........

ith encoders on, they are not really servos, so not sure why they call them that! Also known as hybrid steppers i think?

Re: Harrison m300 with acorn centroid control
A few more pics and a little more progress... hopefully the saddle and apron should be complete this week.
Going to order the acorn and pro lathe this week hopefully.

Lathe or mill?
Do you have to state at point of purchase what machine you plan on using the acorn on? I've got 2 lathes and a mill which are all getting an acorn eventually, it would be nice to decide when it arrives for a number of different reasons....

Re: encoder suitability
For what it's worth, the seller "queens land" has assured me they are genuine omron. Easy to say from an office in China though! My problem is I have no idea how to test one anyway. It may be obvious from looking at it may that it's fake? Who knows
