Re: Cheap DIY "laser" screw compensation

Quick tip. i have found you do the laser map first with the lash comp off, after check your backlash and then change that comp to match. the ball screw will still have backlash even after laser mapping, easiest way to think about it is your mapping the screw in one direction the the other for the wh...

Re: Ballscrew Compensation

Im not sure why it would change the moves with comp on with no data entered. It looks good through, getting it dialed in nicely bud.

Re: Ballscrew Compensation

Just looked through your report, the tab files for the ballscrew comps for all 3 axis dont have any comp changes in your report file. This is what they should look like when you have changed them. NC10 TAB FILE VERSION 3 AXIS X UNITS INCH INTERVAL 0.5 ENTRIES 32 +0.00000000 +0.00000000 +0.00000000 -...

Re: Setting steps using Clearpath sdsk servos on emco 120p

I recomend running the clearpath servo tuning first, put your vice/ whatever your going to keep on your table for a weight reference for the tuning and let the clearpath software auto tune, make sure your gibs are where you want them first. For large movements or even more accurately measuring you can use a laser interferometer. Its a much more expensive and takes a ton of time to setup and use. I have a youtube video about using one i made and a ballbar to really dial in a mill.

Re: Inexpensive touch probe option for 2d on a router??

It should be able to be a adjusted or you need to put it in the same position in the spindle each time, my lp2 is just a shaft, my omp400 is adjustable. 20180318_192309.jpg Its designed from renishaw prints for a cat 40 holder i designed it to run in a er20 collet and be fully adjustable. Its a on g...
