Re: Upgrading 1984 Wells Index 820 with Allin1DC

Indeed, that's why I'd like to hear Marc's take in the subject. He's been around probably? as long as Centroid. If you look at the PLC he is one of its authors. He's seen a lot over the years.

Re: Upgrading 1984 Wells Index 820 with Allin1DC

Here is what the Applications Engineer Recommended for DC motor load: Pricing is a little outdated. XTCF032C10T + XTCEXFAC11 DILMP32-10 (24VAC) + DILA-XHI11 220VDC @ 32A (Must split load across 2 contacts) XTCF032C10TD + XTCEXFAC11 DILMP32-10 (24VDC) + DILA-XHI11 220VDC @ 32A (Must split load across...

Re: Upgrading 1984 Wells Index 820 with Allin1DC

I had the conversation with Eaton/Moeller Applications Engineer. Their DIL and XTC contactors are rated for DC. I'd like to hear from Marc (cncsnw) as to which he uses. If you have a spare main contact on the contractor, run both DC- and DC+ through each to spread the load. Centroid will sell their ...

Are they rated for high DC voltage?
Good to know if they are.

Re: Upgrading 1984 Wells Index 820 with Allin1DC

I don't know how to make myself any clearer. Have you actually read that description of what you posted? If you click that link, it puts a snubber in your shopping cart, which I have already done earlier (times 4) in anticipation of using them later. I am looking for the contactor itself. I guess I...

Re: Upgrading 1984 Wells Index 820 with Allin1DC

Thanks Marty. I must be blind. Still not seeing it. I have found that page a hundred times, and the picture of the contactor with the snubber installed. The snubber has a part number (1819) and shows up in a search, but the contactor does not (14374 - from the install manual). Mark Scroll down towa...

Re: Upgrading 1984 Wells Index 820 with Allin1DC

Working on my E-Stop. I was about to order a contactor, with installed snubber, but I can not find it listed in Centroid's online catalog. From the instruction manual: Centroid recommends using a Scheneider Electric/Telemecanique LC1DT40B7A or similar device for the E-stop contactor (Centroid PART#...

Re: Controller enclosure box

Base it on your cabinet supply voltage. If 110v, use 110v fan. Buy one with ball bearings. I blow IN to the cabinet via a filter. I use an electrical cabinet louver with aluminum screen door screen behind it to help make sure no large stringy chips make their way into the cabinet

Thank you for reviewing the drawing Marty. I appreciate all you do to help people. I have wired up the Acorn and have a heartbeat. Now I need to follow the rest of the bench test advice. I'm looking forward to getting the Acorn working. Bill Keep us posted Bill. Post your build pictures along the w...
