Re: Acorn burned down < strand of hookup wire on board>.

Simple. Self inflicted damage. Spend $199 to get an RMA to get a replacement.
A little better than paying full boat.

They load the firmware on BBG and test every board they sell as a complete unit. When you get it, it's your responsibility to bench test it and install. Ship the old one back.

Re: issue with encoder e6b2-cwz1x (Solved)

Hi everyone, thanks for your help, well it wasn’t a wiring problem, like cncsnw said, it was only reading one channel, I used the oscilloscope to see if the channels are ok, and I only have the A channel working, I use one of those pot inside the encoder until I get a reading on the B channel and t...

Re: Upgrading 1984 Wells Index 820 with Allin1DC

CH probably chassis ground as Marc mentioned earlier.
I would imagine G is 5vdc ground
Your tech checking the encoder should have been able to verify this

Re: 325 limit on home?

Post pictures of these switches on the machine, or the make and model. We can make better suggestions. Remember, we can not "See" what you "See"

Re: 325 limit on home?

It's not bounce. I did have one or two noisy trips, but most were clean. I have long arm limit switches on my x and y axis. Reset distance is long and appears to be too long. The machine will hit the limit switch, then backtrack waiting for the limit switch to reset. Centroid throughs this error be...

Re: conection two MPG wheels with acorn (Resolved)

If you are intent on building your own control panel, you are going to need more inputs than Acorn has. You will need Ether1616 You have one encoder port. That is for a Spindle Encoder If you want to experiment that's fine and up to you. We can't tell you what to do. I would abandon the idea and buy...

Re: Tool offsets change after restart

The sensors are approaching the face. This was what the manufacturer rec. Please point me to the other method if that's what I need to be doing. As explained above the NC sensors were unavailable when I upgraded them. Again, if you have a link for a better switch, Please send. There are 2 screws, o...

Re: New Build: SYIL X4 CNC Mill, Clearpath SDSK, C86ACCP & Centroid Acorn

The one part about the new design that I'm not comfortable with is having only a single terminal for the four common wires. My work-around is using the Wago 221-415 lever-nut. That lever-nut has a common terminal for each of the four wires, plus a terminal to attach a single wire to the C86ACCP for...

Re: conection two MPG wheels with acorn (Resolved)

You can not use two hand wheels with Acorn. period.
The one encoder port is for a spindle encoder.

NPN sensors work with Acorn inputs. Not PNP
