Re: conection two MPG wheels with acorn (Resolved)

If you want to do things the most common way, go with Centroid. They have been doing CNC Machine motion control for well over 30 years. If you want to spend time experimenting, programming and fiddling microcontrollers (if that is your thing) contact the guy in the video for information. Your budget...

Ether1616 is an IO Expansion module for Acorn. Wireless MPG is the way to go. You can run macros/g code with the programmable buttons. https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_diy/downloads/centroid_wireless_mpg.pdf You need to learn to use INTERCON, the conversational programming feature in CNC12. Down...

Re: Retrofit 2.0 TREE J325

One area of control that I am working on is to find relays to use for E-Stop, spindle fwd/rev. I may not have enough I/O to run all the relays shown but I would appreciate some help with identification - manufacturer - vendor? Is 1 a time delay? relays.JPG Yes, relay 1 is a time delay (didn't you h...

Re: Tool offsets change after restart

Just so you understand how commercial CNC machines work, They home to a switch and then they back off and hunt for the Z index pulse on the servo encoder. Very few step and direction drives have this capability. I know DMM Dyn4 and Dyn2 have it. You might setup an indicator and rehome the machine ov...

Re: Acorn burned down < strand of hookup wire on board>.

Not sure what to tell you. You don't need the "extras" so why pay for them? It's not Centroid's fault the user damaged the board. They aren't obligated to do anything. But why to send the old board back to them or destroy it??? That is my point and not who's fault it is. Why there isn’t a...

Re: Acorn burned down < strand of hookup wire on board>.

Simple. Self inflicted damage. Spend $199 to get an RMA to get a replacement.
A little better than paying full boat.

They load the firmware on BBG and test every board they sell as a complete unit. When you get it, it's your responsibility to bench test it and install. Ship the old one back.

Re: issue with encoder e6b2-cwz1x (Solved)

Hi everyone, thanks for your help, well it wasn’t a wiring problem, like cncsnw said, it was only reading one channel, I used the oscilloscope to see if the channels are ok, and I only have the A channel working, I use one of those pot inside the encoder until I get a reading on the B channel and t...
