i use spindle stop all the time to turn off the spindle during a "dry run" where the axis motors keep moving
same with flood and mist etc.

all fonts have to be converted to lines and arcs.

use "covert to outline" in Ai,

and object to path in Inkscape.

the VCP does not support fonts in .svg files , as per vcp manual page. 38
