Re: Trouble setting up my Huanyang Inverter
Forget about acorn and make the vfd work on it's own first. Then work on getting acorn to control it. You should be able to touch two wires together to make it run (spin for and dcm) and you can use a 9v battery to give it 90% speed command(VI and Acm). Once you have the vfd and spindle working, th...

Re: Cutter Comp Tutrial question - Typo?
Thanks for the help, I didn't mean to create work for you. I don't really have an icn file yet. I'm just now getting my shop made cnc mill running and was preparing to make my first part, which is a part for a power draw bar I'm adding. As I was programming it in Intercon, I was struggling with the...

Re: cutting air
If you look at his report Keith the Z axis turns ratio is not setup correctly. He has 2.601249 and it's a direct drive metric ballscrew. That's an impossible number and why it's cutting air. yeah i saw that, this is why i always ask for photos of the machine. if i had photos i could tell how the z ...

Re: New App! The Centroid CNC PC Tuner is now available in beta.
I tried this on three machines (with OAK boards) and it worked flawlessly except for the pop-up window for creating a restore point. The "Create a Restore Point Now" link in that window points to a "System Restore" and NOT create a restore point. thanks for the feedback! looking...

Re: Cutter Comp Tutrial question - Typo?
i am updating the operator manual with our new tech support guy Domenic. We improved the "c rod" tutorial using better cutter comp practices. (get the tool compensated before it reaches any material of the actual part). and proper depth repeat begin and end points please see sample .icn an...

Re: Proper/acceptable contactor usage
i would use the clearpath power hub and use estop to kill the power to servo drive and the vfd and any other powerful motor.
when i hit estop (not reset) i want everything except for the logic power (low voltage) to devices to be OFF immediately. that is definition of an emergency stop.

Re: cutting air
well thats better than cutting thru your table.
Graph shows the G cocde looks reasonable.. so i would assume you set your Z zero position incorrectly.
do you have photo album of this machine?

Re: New build Sherline Lathe and Mill
Thanks, I was expecting some indication that the USB Key was present. I dont see it in device manager but then I dont know what im looking for. yes i understand. the word hardware key on that screen is not referring to the USB key. i understand the confusion. open Intercon with the USB key plugged ...
