Re: Enable outputs on Acorn
If you disable drives on an Acorn, you will have to re-home everytime you re-enable the drives. Acorn is an open-loop system.

Re: Remote heartbeat
Some in the past have used fiber optic light guides to reposition the heartbeat.

Re: Homebuilt tool touchoff block
Are you sure your tool is grounded through the spindle? If you have ceramic bearings, you'll need a separate ground wire with an alligator clip for your tool.

Re: why is my origin inverted?
Most likely your machine axis are setup incorrectly. On a mill, X+ is the SPINDLE moving towards the right. Y+ is the SPINDLE moving towards the column, and Z+ is the SPINDLE moving up. The mistake people commonly make is even though the spindle doesn't actually move in X and Y, the axis are set up ...

You may find that you will always need a test cut. There is no way the probe can account for tool deflection and cutting forces.

It looks like to me some calipers and radius gages would get that into CAD much faster.

Re: VFD control voltage
Well, the fact that you get 10V without the VFD connect pretty much narrows it down to the VFD loading the analog out. You might try a signal isolator:

Re: Torchmate accumove 2 conversion
Acorn will use the steps per rev first before the revs per inch. So if you tell it to move a certain distance and you have these settings wrong it will default to the steps per rev that you have entered in the wizard... Almost there. Acorn operates in steps. People operate in inches or mm for those...

Re: Torchmate accumove 2 conversion
What do you have your motor steps set to on the drives? In the Wizard?

Re: Torchmate accumove 2 conversion
You need at least 3 motor revs per inch of travel for correct positioning, so you need add a belt drive between your motor and screw, or replace your screws with a smaller pitch.
Just setting the revs/inch to 3 will not work
