Re: Retrofit 2.0 TREE J325

Is your gib adjusted correctly? Sometimes, if they are loose, the axis will move fine in one direction, and the gib will jam in the other

Re: Pseudo Z-Axis Brake & Stepper Size - Love your thoughts!

Gas struts loose their charge over time and have variable force throughout the stroke since the volume of nitrogen is fixed. Air cylinders are a better choice since the pressure/force remains constant over the full length of the stroke and can be adjusted to exactly match the weight of the moving pa...

Re: My Sherline chucker lathe & 5400 mill with Acorn control build

Re: How to set/zero a manual axis on CNC12 Lathe

Thanks Marc. I did have it set as "M" and just wanted it, and the axis being tested, to start from the same value so I could eaisly compare the displayed and measured distance moved for calibration. Never thought to use the variables!

How to set/zero a manual axis on CNC12 Lathe

This is a weird problem I ran into that is off the beaten path. I have scales on my mill and lathe so with a little spare time today, I thought I'd double check the turns/inch setting for my drives. I turned off the scales and set up a manual axis to display one of the scale inputs. This worked grea...
