Re: Retrofit My Build Looking at Switching from Mach4 to Centroid System

Analog out from the VFD will not be used. Some of the other Centroid controls have an analog input where this could be used for a spindle load meter. Unfortunately, the Acorn does not have this.

As far as A1 goes, this is more likely AI (Analog Input) and where the 0-10V output from the Acorn goes.

Re: M6 tool change error on Prolight 3000 Lathe

M6 is not used on a lathe. See CNCSNW's recent post on this subject: viewtopic.php?p=93064#p93064

Re: Schematic question

Contactors are normally open. The contacts close when the coil is energized.

They can have auxillary contact blocks installed that can be either NO or NC, but the main L1/T1, L2/T2, and L3/T3 contacts are NO.

Re: Full Depth or Half

If your machine can do it, full depth spreads the wear over more of the cutter.

Re: Motion stops - no error

Nothing abnormal in the message log for the past 3 weeks. My guess is that you are encountering a drive error, but don't have the drive alarm signal connected to an Acorn input. Next time it happens, check the drive states inside the cabinet.

Re: Lathe Spindle Encoder speedratio?

Have a look at a T flip flop, AKA a toggle flip flop. You may have to combine that with a one-shot pulse generator. I'm not sure what Centroid is expecting the index pulse to look like. If it just triggers on one of the edges, then the T-type flip flop should be all you need.

Re: dp-4 probing

The easiest way would be to use a G52 command to temporarily offset the Z value of your WCS. You could then step down the tool path in manageable increments.

Changes are listed starting on pg. 28. The main difference on the keyboard is adding CTRL to each command.

Re: Shuttle xpress

Chances are Marty's post was for a previous version of CNC12 and uses the wrong keystrokes. You need to adjust the shuttle settings based on the release notes link cnckeith provided.
