Re: Build Thread - Emco 320

At least that agrees with the Sauter table in your image above.

It looks like it's connected to a switch in the motor, so my guess is thermal overload protection, and that symbol is an signal isolator connected to a fault circuit.

Re: acorn vfd spindle speed issue..

If you do a bench test, that will verify the Acorn is outputting the full 0-10v range, and narrow down the problem between the Acorn, or more likely, the VFD.

Re: acorn vfd spindle speed issue..

What voltage values did you get during the spindle bench test?

Re: CA or Super Glue Work Holding

Unfortunately, you can't buy MAPP gas anymore in NA. The crap being sold as MAP-Pro barely burns hotter than Propane: 3730 vs 3600°F but costs twice as much.

Re: dp-4 probing

Most likely it is a broken cable, or a blown probe fuse. The cable is detailed in the DP-4 manual so you can a multimeter to check continuity on the wires. The fuse is F13 on the AllIn1DC board.

Re: Can Acorn support 2 pulses per Rev. to give an accurate spindle rpm

Depending on the pulse characteristics (it would need to be a differential 5V signal or converted into one), you could wire this into the spindle encoder Z (index) channel. You could then use a T flip flop to remove every other pulse, or possibly program a 2.0 gear ratio.

Re: charge pump on g540

Since there is no parallel port involved, it's going to be a little tough to set it to enhanced mode.
