Re: The AcornSix CNC controller kit has been released!

You could have your PLC create a g-code file and then set up a aux button on CNC12 to execute the g-code file.

Re: PLC SV_SYS_MACRO logic question

Thanks Marc. That was the key - I didn't know that the controller needed more that one scan of the PLC to register the macro request.

Re: If you were to get a mill and convert it to CNC, what would you get?

That often makes things difficult. You may have to use linear encoders so the motors can track the positions, and you would have to disengage the motors to move the machines manually. Some steppers motors have dual shafts so you can drive the motors with a handwheel, but the motor would still be re...

Do you have snubbers on the relays that are being controlled by the M60/M80 commands?

PLC SV_SYS_MACRO logic question

I'm updating my PLC programs to incorporate the latest revisions included in the Centroid release. Back in 2020 I asked a question about the reset logic on the SV_SYS_MACRO calls in the PLC - see https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=4615&p=38333&hilit=SV_SYS_MACRO#p38333 In ...

Re: Timing Pulley

Tran-torque 1/2” id bushing requires a 7/8 bore. Keyless bushings are far superior to keyways and setscrews.

Re: Timing Pulley

You could look at Fenner tran-torque bushings. You could use your current pulley by boring it out to fit the bushing.

If you go with a different tooth count pulley you'll change the gear ratio as Uwe states, and it will also require a different belt length.

Re: CNC12 Offset Checks?

There could be many things that cause the mismatch. None of them are Centroid configuration/parameter issues. The most common reason for mismatch is failing to account for the removed stock when flipping the part for the second op. Immediately after running the first side, do not remove the part. Re...

Possible ONLY IF his servos accept step/direction inputs.
