Re: BORING QUESTION
You can change the "back-off" distance after a pass using F9 Options in Intercon. This will help with the interference on the backside of the boring bar.

Re: NEW BUILD! Chinese CNC 1313 replacing mach3
Z "down" is negative. If your machine homes with the head all the way up, you are at max Z+, so your Z+ limit is 0, and your Z- limit is your max travel. You have a Z- limit of 0, so you will not be able to lower the head from the home position without hitting your travel limit.

Re: stepper moving in one direction only
Steppers should be connected to the DB25 connector and not to the Acorn headers. The headers are for 12V servos, and not 5V logic stepper drivers. If you will tell us the brand and model numbers of your drives and steppers, we can direct you to the correct Centroid schematic to follow.

Re: Windows 10 to 11
I am sure MS will supply security updates for the next 2-4 years even if the official support is done.
Uwe
There will be no more security updates, for Win10 after October unless you PAY starting at $61/year for the first year; going up each year up to 3 additional years.

Bug fixes for free....
for the current active license version correct? Say one upgrades to 5.40 and pays the upgrade fee. They are covered for bug fixes 5.4X, not bug fixes for 5.5XX I know that's obvious but....

Bug fixes are always free regardless of the version number. If you pay to ...

Re: BORING QUESTION
The profile cycle also works for boring following the same starting and ending diameter rule that CNCSNW stated. You also need to have the correct Nose Vector set for your tool for either method.

Re: Using spindle encoder as DRO
I have not done it on Acorn with the wizard, but I have done it with both Oak and AllIn1DC controls using the parameters. Just pick an unused axis in Motor Parameters, label it as manual, set the revs/in to 1, and the steps/rev to counts/in of your scale. Connect your scale to the encoder input, and ...
