Re: cant figure out how to hookup, yes I read all docs

Your steppers should be powered from a separate power supply. The power supply that ships with the Acorn is meant to power the Acorn only. There are two reasons for this: 1) The Acorn supply is not sized for the additional load of the steppers; 2) Steppers and their drivers can generate electrical n...

Re: Home file 4th axis select

Marc is correct. I have the G1 move so the rotary home is set with the t-slot horizontal as B=0°(it's the CDO I have).

Re: Gecko 214 Wiring Diagram To Acorn

Why should Centroid be responsible for testing the drives? Centroid sells Etsun drives that they have tested and confirmed to work. If Gecko wishes to sell drives "compatible" with Acorn, they should test them.

Re: Home file 4th axis select

Here's my home file (part you want is the IF at the end): ; For the following tests: ; #20103 = third axis label: 90 = Z (enabled), anything else = disabled ; #50007 = quill clamped switch [INP7] state: 1 = clamped 0 = not clamped IF [#20103 == 90 && #50007==0] THEN GOTO 20 ; 3-axis mode, bu...

Nope. Centroid only supports the wireless WMPG-4 for the Acorn.

Re: Unable to setup homing

Something else to think about. If you are doing simple homing where you move the machine to a position and set home, your WCS positions will not be repeatable. If you have located a fuxture and set a WCS for it previously, then that WCS will be out of position by as much as your positioning error fo...

Re: Unable to setup homing

You have to home the machine EVERY time you start the Acorn. Whether you do a simple home by moving the machine to marks and pressing cycle start, or if you set up home switches and do an automatic home by pressing cycle start. Once the machine has been homed (and the DROs display numbers instead of...

Re: How can I create work offsets or work stations?

"GOTO WCS" means select the WCS you want by hitting alt-1 for WCS #1, alt-2 for WCS #2, etc., and then MDI "X0Y0" and hit cycle start.

Neither of these methods (nor MDI) will work until the machine is homed.

Re: Oak error 455 spindle fault

Spindle faults are generated by your VFD. What code does your VFD have on it when this happens? Quick guess is a bus overvolt condition. Do you have a braking resistor?

Re: Setup profiles for Router - Laser - Lathe

Assuming all the limit switches and other connections remain the same, you can either keep a report for each setup and just restore rhe one you want to use, or you can keep separate directories for each setup and just rename the ones you want to use to CNCM and INTERCON.
