Re: Bridgeport Series 1 2J2 CNC conversion with ALLIN1DC

Hiwin also makes good ball screw retrofit kits for Bridgeports and clones. As previously mentioned, no problems going manual as the drive encoders provide position feedback. As simple as hitting the Axis Free button on the operator's control panel.

Your bigger problems will be attaching the drives ...

Re: Intercon feature requests.

The root flat on UNC/UNF/ISO threads is 1/8 of the thread depth. So, 0.125H = 0.108253175P per side. You would therefore need to reduce the CNC12's minor diameter by 0.217 * the thread pitch when using sharp V or "partial" thread inserts.

Re: Moore Jig Grinder

Moore jig grinders are amazing machines, but I think 10 millionths is a little optimistic.

Re: Wizard Assigning Random Output Numbers <answered>

You could always add logic to the PLC along the lines of: if spindle is off and speed < 200rpm then engage mechanical brake.

Re: lathe spindle question

Turn off Window's "Hide extensions for known file types". My guess is your file is actually named compile.cmd.txt which will not work.

Re: ESTOP PIN 8 DOES NOT WORK

Did you overide Input 8 in the I/O monitor? It should have no lines above the indicator.

Re: Enable the Rapid Override and Link/Unlink with Feed Override

You haven't included a report so we don't know what version you are running. You need to be on the latest version, with the latest PLC program to have separate rapid feed override. This was a recent addition.

Re: New computer question

If you are going from one version to the same, just copy /cnc? and all of its subdirectories. Then copy /intercon or /icn_lath depending what installation you are using. That will put you back where you left off.

If you are switching versions, then you'll need to follow the installation ...

Re: Drive Fault on all drives

On an Acorn, "drive fault" means that one or more of your drives is reporting a fault. If there is truly a fault, the additional information will be on the drive, not CNC12. More than likely, the drive fault input is not configured correctly, or overridden/forced on the CNC12 I/O screen.
