Re: Router dust collector vcp button

If you can Manually type the M command in the MDI to turn on and off the DC then centroid is fine. You have to add those same commands to the vectric post processor you are using. Just a text editor like notepad is fine for that. Add the turn on command in the header section and the turn off at the ...

Re: AXYZ 4004 Retrofit

What is on there will work, and it's not hard to determine the pulse/step. The wire with the tag to another wire in the plug supplies 5v to them. Just when it's growling upon movement, you know how to fix. The funny part is they work smooth and quiet on the axyz boards. If you buy original or copies...

Re: AXYZ 4004 Retrofit

The drivers didn't like centroid. I replaced with leadshine. I got them to function fine, but it was loud growling going on. I replaced one to test and that solved it. Good leadshine unit's worked smooth and quiet with the existing motors. The original power supply worked fine for me.

Re: AXYZ 4008 with tool change carousel...need some advice

I used these. The oem drivers will work, but they are rough and sound horrible. I don't know what axyz does different to drive them, but just passing on what I ended up doing to get it smooth. http://www.americanmotiontech.com/products/productdetail.aspx?model=dm856-cnc-digital-stepper-drive-80v-5.6a

Re: AXYZ 4008 with tool change carousel...need some advice

Mine was not atc and only had an aluminum block for touch off. I installed a switch off to the side of the work area. If you just need a 4' wide work area, a drop in linear rack would be my choice, but I see no reason you can not set up the current rotary for atc. It is possible with atc you have di...

Re: AXYZ 4008 with tool change carousel...need some advice

I had a 4008 that I converted to another system. The Motors are solid on that machine and the drive motors for the gantry are tucked inside the gantry, so there is not much room to change them anyway. The pacific scientific drivers don't play well with acorn or the win system I used. Put some leadsh...

Re: x axis only moves one direction

Are you switching motor cables only or switching signal cables to the drivers when it works ok?

polishpickle, If you want someone to hand you all of the answers on a silver platter, either purchase tech support from centroid or buy one of Gary's units. With a little searching and reading on this forum, all the info is here, but it is a DIY product. Wiring diagrams and youtube video's are avail...
