Re: AcornSix issues
Your AcornSix should be sent back for update. There were 3 updates to the ACORN_6 FPGA and 2 to the MPU12b FPGA since your unit shipped. There is one update that may be relevant to your issue. The issue that may be corrected with firmware is lost position counts on drives with low maximum input rate...

Re: AcornSix issues
If you post a report we can look into it.
Your vintage of AcornSix may need a firmware update to resolve issues with drives that have a low pulse input rate.
Did you use 5V step and direction and the same step rate for ACORN and AcornSix tests?

EtherCAT spindle VFD control is not currently supported, but will be at some point.

Re: Hardinge CHNC II+ Hickory LeadShine EL7 Retrofit
If you still get "MPU requested resend" in your msg_log.txt, the issue is not resolved. Try setting the network to "100 Mbps Half Duplex" as per TB270 page 5. https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersupport/tech_bulletins/uploads/270.pdf Page 9 explains 2 ways to view the message log. ...

Re: Max pulse rate question
Set parameter 968 to 16.
The width of the step pulse is constant at a given p968 setting, so the step rate has to be set low enough for the drive. Otherwise, the short step pulse may be missed by the drive.

Re: Strange noise issue.
I would ground everything related to the dust collection unit with heavy wire going to a single point ground bar. Some dust collection units are impressive static electricity generators.

Re: SD3 Driver
AC/DC drives can run those motors. They are brushless (aka AC) motors, so ALLIN1DC will not run them. You should not use SD3 or SD1 on a new build. Centroid tries to support products as long as possible. However, there are components on SD1 and SD3 that have been obsolete for over a decade. The time...

Re: Motor sizing for Allin1DC
- Should I be concerned about the max current consumption being so much greater than the capacity of the Allin1dc? No. Peak Current is extremely high on DC brush motors. It is normally the demagnetization current, so you don't want to go near that. - Just out of curiosity, how much of a performance...

Re: optic direct
The cable was marked DELTA, that is why I used the delta header, are the cables header specific? The Delta cables are slightly longer than Yaskawa. There is no other difference. The analog input is the only reason I know for using the Delta header with the breakout board. It is more convenient than...
