Re: closed loop with Acorn 6 and a linear scale
Quickly becoming a favorite YouTube channel. It's increasingly high level work. Thanks, Uwe.

Re: My home build - so far so good
Nice! I like the design and the construction method you used to achieve rigidity.

Re: ATC for Mori Seiki Lathe
Our Hitachi Seiki slant bed has a hydraulic tool changer. I mapped out all the functions and had the wires connected and ready. Mark (cncsnw) programmed the PLC. Wise $ spent. I think I could send you the code as a sample but have Mark help you as timing and other details are critical. Been working ...

Re: Two Servos, One Axis
Ah. Perfect. Thank for the clarity in that. Seems like half the battle is getting the terms right; "axis summing", in this case.

Two Servos, One Axis
Are there any pitfalls with using two servos to contribute to one axis of motion? Example is one servo driving a milling quill downward and the second, driving the knee upward. Goal is maximizing available travel. Centroid already supports dual servos for bridge mill / gantry type situations. Nice. ...

Re: SERVO SPINDLE MOTOR OPTIONS MILLTURN CAXIS LATHE
Thanks, Mark. Sounds like the mechanism the page refers to is a clutch, then. We'll plan accordingly and be in touch with you if you've got room for the work and don't mind the travel.

Re: SERVO SPINDLE MOTOR OPTIONS MILLTURN CAXIS LATHE
What did you end up doing on this project? I'm on a similar trail for two machines. Having researched it out, I'm surprised that there's not more support for C-axis / mill-turn conversions on the CNC aftermarket or more explicit direction from Centroid. Siemens, Fanuc, Mazak and Okuma seemed to have...

Re: Mazak Slant Turn 15 Build
I did a 1986 Hitachi Seiki slant bed lathe 9 years ago (with cncsnw batting clean-up with me) and it's been an unequivocal success as a daily driver in a production environment.
Very similar in design to your Mazak - and color.... love that green.
