Re: Techno CNC lathe build help
Tecnik ClearPath's servos.
My Lathe didn't have an encoder on it, I was able to add a pully to the spindle and belt 1:1 to an encoder.

Re: Techno CNC lathe build help
I started on my Techno Lathe in 2019, I got it running with the Lenze VFD, but changed to a new VFD that had better features and ease of use.
I purchased a GS2 series AC micro drive, enclosed, 120 VAC, 1hp with 1-phase input (this may have been replaced by a newer version) for about $200.

Re: Intercon wish list.
Keith, one thing that I think would be helpful is the ability to make gears. I am building a small hit and miss engine from bar stock. I need to make two gears with a diametral pitch of 48, one with 24 teeth and one with 48 teeth. It would be nice to have intercon generate the g-code to rotate the ...

Re: X axis started homing in the wrong direction
I will check again, the homing page in the wizard was the first thing that I checked. It shows M92 on that page, I will change to M91, save and then back to M92 and run another report to see if that changes the direction back to the way it was. I did check a report from two days earlier that showed ...

X axis started homing in the wrong direction
I have an issue with the homing of the X axis. I am running CNC12 5.0 Beta Rev 0.
Today I crashed the mill hard when a 3/8" Carbide 3 flute dropped down further than it should (2D Contour, picked the wrong surface). Broke the end mill and rotated the Z axis out of perpendicular to the X axis.

Re: Communication Errors (Problem Fixed)
Going to 100 mbps half duplex fixed the problems on both machines. Thanks to all for the help.

Re: Communication Errors
I will try that this morning, I did get a shielded cable to work last night on the lathe.
I have always turned on power to the Acorn board first, waited for the heartbeat and then turned on the computer. When I got ready to try the CNC12 beta I added a power strip to the machine that powered up ...

Re: Communication Errors
Keith, this is what I have, I have not gotten it to pass the stress test with a shielded cable, it does pass with un-shielded flat cable on both mill and the lathe.
It did fail once with the un-shielded but passed after power down of the Acorn and restart of cnc12. I power up everything at the same ...

Re: Communication Errors
Keith, I will get the report and the specs for the Lenovo, I forgot to take a thumb drive with me.
I did some more testing. All five of the shielded cables that I tried (all failed) showed good shields when checked with an Ohm meter. The error was a 452.
The un-shielded cable (6 foot flat cable ...
