Re: Moving CNC12 to a new PC

UPDATE

Not sure how/why but I copied another cncm directory over to the new PC.
Started CNC12 which the Utility menu says is v4.18.

Went into Wizard and replicated all the screen shots I took yesterday.
Now everything works. I haven't run a job but at least I can Reset Error, Home, and Jog ...

Re: Moving CNC12 to a new PC

Watch Keith's video "Install new version of CNC12 guidance and discussion and how to switch back to the old version" at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3Kr8CI-nx4 where he appears to say exactly what I was trying to say.

You can just copy 1 version's cncm directory in place of another and restart ...

Moving CNC12 to a new PC

Hello Support,

I am running a working installation of CNV12 v4.50 and need to change my PC to a new PC.

I got an email from Scott Bennett who suggested I just start with a new installation.

The new PC passes all the PCTuner tests.

I copied all pages of the Wizard from v4.50 and produced a report ...

Re: Is the spindle running?

To answer cncsnw's question "Are you certain..." the answer is I'm not certain of anything with the input circuitry (obviously).

I only thing I do get that is that there is 24v to the inputs section of the acorn board.
So that the current flows from 24v thru my limit switches back to common. When a ...

Re: Is the spindle running?

On further analysis I connected the DRV output from the VFD to Input 6 on the Acorn.
I set Input 6 in the Wizard to VFDUpToSpeed .
After restarting everything I checked the voltage from VFD - DRV to Common: 0v if spindle off, 24v if spindle on.
Same voltages at Input 6: spindle off = 0v, spindle on ...

Re: Is the spindle running?

Answered my own last question use new v4.20 input: VFDUpToSpeed on an unused Input.

Now to select VFD output.

Re: Is the spindle running?

Thanks to all for the responses.

To Gary, that's what I was after but I'm not sure of the details.

From the Huan Yang VFD manual:
It shows output terminals as:
DRV Multi-Output 1 (Optical couple output)
UPF Multi-Output 2 (Optical couple output)
output ==> DC24V/100mA
Multi-Output 3 (N/O or N/C ...

Is the spindle running?

Obviously you can hear or see if the spindle is rotating.

But my question is specifically if or how you can tell via program code if the spindle is on.

Seems Acorn neither knows or cares if the spindle is moving.
With the power to the VFD/spindle off you can MDI "M3 S500" and Acorn will report ...

Re: Unable to adjust Feedrate

Thanks all for the help.
Works fine now.
Got to study that Wizard some more!
Only doc I see specific to the wizard is acorn_wizard_input_output_plc_functions.pdf. Correct?

Just reading up on v4.20.1 now, I like the VCP editing capability.

Unable to adjust Feedrate (Resolved)

Using Acorn CNC v.18 pro, report attached.

Using MDI send this command: G1 X4 F80.
Gantry moves correctly but the feedrate output at the top of the screen shows 100% 50 ipm.

No matter what speed I send it's always 50 ipm.
Tried the feed rate override icon on the VCP, doesn't change the speed.
Also ...
