Re: Not my first 3D carving...

Good. There should be an easier path, but if it works... I was going to mention that one could contact Paul Rowntree to see if his "CSV" gadget would work for this. The manual reads like it should, but the script for the gadget is outdated and won't run in the latest version(s) of Aspire. ...

Re: Not my first 3D carving...

I haven't dug into it, and at times could use it for some of the slabs that I do, but possibly take a look at Matlab or the open source version Octave along with the surface to stl plug in. This might give you the surface that could then be imported into Aspire. Like I say, I haven't dug into it, bu...

Re: Home file mods

Yes you can, and not unless you change/write the homing config settings in the Wizard. Once you have it edited the way you want, save a backup of it for when a CNC12 update is installed.

Re: Acorn controller and Raspberry Pi

One way to find out, install windows 10 and then CNC12, then once you have it all set up and working, try running a 3D/V-carve file or something similar to see if it chokes. Then report back. :)

Re: VCP spindle enable but no MDI

Your mfunc3.mac and mfunc4.mac look to be empty or possibly corrupt. When I open either of them in notepad++, I get "null null null......" If opened in Windows notepad, they're empty, along with many other macros.

Perhaps some of the Oak/Allin1DC guys can enlighten us. ;)

Re: Post Processor Problem

Perhaps attach your g-code for people to check it out. It reminds me of an issue I used to have with a ShopBot controller many years ago, and it was due to the code not being carried out with enough decimal places. Three or four decimal places would cause arc loops, but six would fix it. Might want ...

Re: Using NC files that were posted for Mach3- same Mill

The file shows that it was posted from Mastercam in May of this year, do you have the design file for it? If so, just repost it using the proper post. Otherwise, a little time in Notepad++ using find/replace would do it.

Re: Change smoothing via command?

Same here as RogDC. One PP for standard "precision router", one for 3D relief, and one for V-carving. Each reverts to my standard "precision router" when done.

Example... G64 ON "3D Relief Fine" ; Activate desired preset by label

Re: Spindle Speed Surging Except When Reading Voltage with Multimeter

Test the analog output from Acorn with the VFD disconnected using spindlebenchtest.cnc located in the ncfiles folder. Open the file in an editor and read the header first. Include some information on how you have the VFD hooked up for rpm control via 0-10v. Looking at a LS M100 quick start guide, pa...
