Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but:
When wiring the VFD, do I connect 'ADC COM' on the Allin1DC to the same Analog Reference used for 'DAC COM' above it (can I jumper them?) or does that get connected elsewhere. I can't find an answer to this in the VFD documentation or on the schematic ...

Re: SWI Trak 1745P - Allin1DC Retrofit
Update:
The limit fault was solved by tripping limit defeat switches other than the two axes in use for this build.
Onward.
Working on getting movement out of the axes now. Neither will move without triggering a 'position error.' The Jog buttons on the VCP will not create any movement with the ...

Re: Millport VMC1660 Centroid Upgrade (Leadshine EL7)
Sorry for the delay on this, Keith. I've been busy with the lathe, and as long as the guys have been able to work around the issue, I've been leaving it be. The probing cycle would have been the work-zero measurement. If we just put the probe in, it detects it (at least it indcates that the spindle ...

Re: SWI Trak 1745P - Allin1DC Retrofit
Good News! No blue smoke.
I don't seem to have access to any wizard. (It's in 'cnct' but will not open)
Currently, the Allin1DC is flashing '4.' from the led indicator, which appears to indicate a limit switch being triggered, but I can manually trip all 4 limit switches, and watch the ...

Re: SWI Trak 1745P - Allin1DC Retrofit
Just checking the current limiting switches. They are currently (pun unintended) set for 12A, but I cannot find what the rated amperage is for these Magnetek motors.

Armature rating is on the label, as 2A on one motor (Z), and 2.96A on the other.

Re: SWI Trak 1745P - Allin1DC Retrofit
I have all the connections made for the VFD, but am unsure of whether or not I am able to use "ACM" on our Automation Direct GS30 as both the ground reference for Input and output. (I can't seem to find a dedicated Analog Output Common, and assume that I am just supposed to know something ...

Update:
I am very close to powering this on, and wanted to share the progress with you, just in case the blue smoke gets out, and I have to go backwards from here.
Enjoy, and feel free to make any and all comments, criticisms, praises, and mild abuses that might result in a better end result ...

Re: SWI Trak 1745P - Allin1DC Retrofit
Have you watched my series on the All in One DC?
Marty,
I did spend some time with your videos before our Mill conversion, which got a Hickory, but I actually haven't revisited them until now. Thanks for all the time you put into these. I'll probably spend some more time with them during the ...

Re: Millport VMC1660 Centroid Upgrade (Leadshine EL7)
Also on my coworker's "punch list:"
He would like to be able to just swap the probe in and out for probing functions without needing to actually do a toolchange to the tool associated with the probe. On the old centroid control, he could just plug the probe in and go, but the new one uses the tool ...

Re: Millport VMC1660 Centroid Upgrade (Leadshine EL7)
Unrelated to the y-axis boot error:
After any probing maneuver or tool check, the jog speed defaults to 'slow.' Is there an easy way to change that, or is it part of each individual macro?
the VCP default fast/slow incremental/continuous mode on boot up are selectable via P856
vcp on power ...
