Re: Millport VMC1660 Centroid Upgrade (Leadshine EL7)

Update time:

Old components are mostly wired in at this point. Pendant is made, and touchscreen is mounted. Work continues on servo mounts and drive pulleys.
Today begins wiring of the contactors in earnest.

Re: Millport VMC1660 Centroid Upgrade (Leadshine EL7)

Ok, thank you.

I'll need a little clarification on the last two lines when the time comes, but I think this gives me enough to keep wiring for now.

Re: Millport VMC1660 Centroid Upgrade (Leadshine EL7)

Okay, At the head of the mpu.plc on this installation it says "PLC program compiled by MPUCOMP 5.22 Rev0 Compiled Dec 3 2024 from Centroid-Mill-Standard-Hickory.src I have no idea whether it will be necessary to modify this or not. If it is necessary, I'll need to lean on your input fairly heav...

Re: Millport VMC1660 Centroid Upgrade (Leadshine EL7)

centroid467,

Bringing our conversation back to the forum,

How might I find out what PLC Program I am using? Is this on the controller itself, or on the CNCPC?
I have the hickory mounted in the cabinet at this point, and the CNCPC won't load into CNC12 once it fails to detect the controller.

Re: Millport VMC1660 Centroid Upgrade (Leadshine EL7)

#S15208 Shipped with our kit, and I have been referring to that, but the one I printed out and sent the photo from is #S15259r2. Liviu included xx259r2 in a correspondence earlier in our kit-building process and, because it included the ATC, I had it printed out. I have the two schematics posted bes...

Re: Millport VMC1660 Centroid Upgrade (Leadshine EL7)

Looking ahead at the Carousel wiring:

These connections from contactor 3 show the use of the ecat1616 expansion kit. Is there a reason for this? There are loads of unused relays on the relay boards. What am I missing?

Re: Millport VMC1660 - Reused Components

Today, I am going through the cabinet, labeling everything I can, removing components that definitely will not be re-used, and compiling a list of components that still need to be purchased. The old cabinet contains an "inrush" limiter, consisting of a large capacitor, and 6RI50E power blo...

Millport VMC1660 Centroid Upgrade (Leadshine EL7)

Greetings all, We have a Millport bed mill (VMC1660) with M400 control and a Servo4 servo drive which has been giving an intermittent communication error (#439) for years. After fiber cleaning, connection re-seating, power supply testing, etc, we suspect the CPU10 board to be at fault. Rather than t...
