Thanks for the informed responses. The age/ obsolete nature of the system is the most logical reason NOT to put much $ into the current system. I paid around $3000 for the machine + $250 to get it wired up. Id like to do a few jobs on it before spending that much more in upgrades (which it will need ...

jJust heard back from Centroid, $550 for this option? I suppose I can copy and paste, change the Z depth. This is not a production machine, by any stretch. Money better spent on CAD/CAM software.

thanks! Thats likely the reason the quill handle and hub was broken when I got it! I have my trusty old Index manual in the corner for the handle work.
