Re: Acorn Plasma Issue
I worked though this with Centroid. Ended up being an issue with one of the board most likely. Replacement TX/RX Boards solved it.

Re: Acorn Plasma Issue
travasky, Open your Profile Manager, Go to THC Config and ensure "THC Installed" is set to Yes (Green). Some quick ways to see the torch voltage is while the torch is on, check the 2nd number to the right of "Target Voltage" on the upper right hand corner of the main CNC12 scree...

Re: Acorn Plasma Issue
Another update: I did some digging using PLC Detective. Mem43 is used for the TorchOK signal. Digging around the code shows that if a TorchOK signal isn't supplied from the plasma unit there is a provision for this to be overridden in software. I have a TorchOK signal so I wired that up and set an i...

Re: Acorn Plasma Issue
I drove down to the office this morning and did some additional testing. The issue only occurs when the THC mode is set to "Automatic". Disabled or Smart Sense work. So to me it seems like there is some issue with getting torch voltage to the control. The signal path is Plasma Power Supply...

Acorn Plasma Issue <resolved>
Ive had the plasma running some test files today and have encountered an odd phenomenon Im hoping someone can chime in about. I'm using the two test files provided with the software so this isn't a post related issue If I run the program with THC enabled the machine will move to the first pierce poi...

Re: Splitting RS422 Signals
I saw a recommendation on a similar topic on another forum to literally split them at a terminal block. The encoder runs about 12 feet to the control. I could terminate a foot or so away from the control and drive so the split cable lengths would be very short. Total cable run of approx 12-13 feet. ...

Splitting RS422 Signals
Can RS422 encoder signals be sent to multiple receivers? I need to send the spindle encoder feedback to both the Oak as well as my spindle drive's secondary encoder input (for positioning the spindle during tool changes. Motor is not 1:1 with spindle). Alternatively, I could use an inductive switch ...

Re: Spindle Encoder - Speed limitations?
4096 counts is going to be tough to achieve at 10,000 rpm for these magnetic radial encoders. I need something closer to 1000 counts. So my question is would that be sufficient resolution for a spindle?

Re: Spindle Encoder - Speed limitations?
So Ive been on the phone with Renishaw today (they own RLS) and there is a problem with using the ring size I want at the speed I want while still having 4000+ counts per rev. It occurred to me that 4000+ counts is probably overkill on a spindle. What is the recommendation on spindle encoder resolut...
