Re: Grizzly G4003G conversion
Yeah I understand, however leadshine in the us, for a comparable size starts at 600 and JMC doesnt have a US dealer. Im a little apprehensive about import taxes, I went to Ali and that size motor was about 250 + shipping and taxes, had everything written in chinese ( which I cant read),and had to wa...

Re: Grizzly G4003G conversion
I would agree with the 3 phase and vfd normally being cheaper, however not in this case. The link is to a servo motor with a controler and timing gears and belt for $444.00 that will bolt right up to my machine. I dont think I can beat that price, unless I buy the cheapest chinese motor I can find, ...

Hey guys, Im working on my latest project, converting my manual lathe to cnc. My first obstacle is what to use for a spindle motor. Ive been looking at all the choices, 3 phase with vfd, AC servo, and this, https://www.servomotorkit.com/product-page/grizzly-g-1550-two-hp-servo-motor-upgrade. This se...

Re: Torchmate accumove 2 conversion
Its been a longer than I thought project, but worth it. Building the control panel was more work than I realized but taking my time to make sure I had it straight in my head paid off. I have successfully cut test parts today, and aside from the typical plasma table issues they came out great. My ohm...

Re: Torchmate accumove 2 conversion
Yes sir, Joey I have gone through every step and the windows firewall is completely turned off. I ran the tuner, 3 times. Then I have gone and verified all the steps manually. The only step I haven't done is the last one in the tb 270 that is inconsistent according to tb 270. There is absolutely not...

Re: Torchmate accumove 2 conversion
Once again I need some help, After sorting out all the setup for my motors/linear motion, I have everything working, home switches/home all, laser, torch is firing, touchoff is working, ect.. I try to run a job and get communication errors. Doing a stress test over and over and trying different thin...

Re: Torchmate accumove 2 conversion
Thanks again for all your help guys. I had a feeling it would be something simple. I corrected the dip switches and settings in the wizard and what do you know .995 revs per inch is less than a 32nd off. And at 400 ipm. With the same motors running on torchmates system 150 ipm was max without losing...

Re: Torchmate accumove 2 conversion
20240417_131051.jpg Ok so Im just going to go crawl in a hole and hide now. Goodness I feel stupid. So what I have gathered from this humbling/learning experience is Acorn will use the steps per rev first before the revs per inch. So if you tell it to move a certain distance and you have these sett...
