Thank you everyone for your help on this. cnc_smith, your document was a winner. I have never written any M or G codes before except simple position in the MDI mode and I took it slow and clenched tight but ended up for a great result! Thank you again.

Re: Blunt Start Higbee Threading with Intercom
Thanks for the reply tblough, but that is one method to create them. There are dozens of articles online showing another method to do this on the lathe with a G32 or G76 cycle - I'm just not having any luck so far.

Blunt Start Higbee Threading with Intercon
I love using Intercom for simple parts but one thing that I have not been able to figure out is how to debur threads with a higbee like tool path on my lathe. My goal is to cut off the first half thread or so down the the minor diameter in a manor that removes any start to the thread that is not ...

Re: Emco Concept Turn 105 Build
I'm now at the home stretch to getting this build completed. I replaced the Emco encoder with a Koyo TRDA-20R1N1000VD and it was pretty much plug and play with the default schematics as far as the wiring went. I had to make a bracket and shaft adapter to mechanically install it. I attached a tech ...

Re: How to set up drills with auto touch off probe. LATHE
I'm not experienced here but I saw there were no replies so.. My question is- I understand setting the Z of the drill but the X should just always be the center line- so could you just get away with measuring your drill chuck/collect center and recording that X offset fro your reference tool and ...

Re: Emco Concept Turn 105 Build
I decided to go ahead and replace the drive with a pair of Leadshine 3DM-580s. I followed the schematics at https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersupport/schematics/uploads/S14976.r4.pdf. I was surprised at how easy this was. I connected the Z axis and did a test which seems to work well. I'll connect ...

Re: VFD help needed
1) Is your VFD cable shielded and that shielding grounded at one end? How close is the VFD cable to other acorn cables or the controller itself? VFDs are notorious for generating noise.

Re: Getting 5v supply
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like you simply pull +5v from the acorn power supply on V1 (comes default with no wires attached by acorn). The -direction and -pulse go to the db25 cable. If your drive has a terminal location for dir+ pulse+ you just daisy chain them together to V1. The ...

Emco Concept Turn 105 Build
Hi All,
I’m attempting to control a Emco Concept Turn 105 with the Acorn. I have no prior CNC experience. I do have some CAD experience as I use it to create tech drawings for some manual machining that I do. I got this machine for what I believe was a good deal and I’m very excited to put it to ...
