Re: Deep Hole Drilling/Reaming

Look for G83 in the manual how to do full extract for a second deep drilling cycle. Uwe G10 P83 R.02 G83 X0 Z-1 Q.25 R.05 L3 G10 P83 R.02 G83 X0 Z-2 Q.1 R.05 L3 The problem with this unless I am mistaken is that if I want to retract completely to clear the chips I have to air cut what was completed...

Re: Deep Hole Drilling/Reaming

For different steps in depth you can use two drilling cycles. If you want user input in a g-code, easy to do with M224 Uwe Thanks much, I will give M224 a try and see how that works. I have tried two cycles, but if you want to fully retract every time, it doesn’t really seem to save anything, becau...

Deep Hole Drilling/Reaming

I have a couple of questions regarding the Deep Hole Drilling Cycle in Intercon. I have been using that cycle with a form reamer and I use a high pressure flush down the bore against the reamer and retracting all the way every time so that it can flush all the chips. Once I am close to finished the ...

This is the unused tool post slide mounted as Y axis with a 12x4 ballscrew and a 400W JMC servo driving a ER20 spindle.

Easy peasy one weekend build :D

Uwe

Very nice!

Re: Hardinge CHNC II+ Hickory LeadShine EL7 Retrofit

Well Happy Days here thanks to Marc (CNCSNW) for doing the PLC to make the turret servo work on my CHNC lathe. This is going to be a great upgrade to the machine. It is quiet and as smooth as silk! Throughout all of the testing it has landed and locked down perfectly every time. I might have gotten ...

Re: Hardinge CHNC II+ Hickory LeadShine EL7 Retrofit

Well one more hurdle crossed today. I am not much of a tig welder especially on cast aluminum, but I have a couple pretty good grinders and I think the end result will serve the purpose well. https://photos.app.goo.gl/KL88FycMxDj5WmwWA IMG_0604.jpeg IMG_0606.jpeg IMG_0611.jpeg IMG_0616.jpeg IMG_0618...

Re: Hardinge CHNC II+ Hickory LeadShine EL7 Retrofit

Exciting stuff happening here, at least if you are me. I have some motion on the CHNC tool turret. Not quite a tool change I am just verifying my turns per inch using MDI, but it is smooth and quiet.

Re: Hardinge CHNC II+ Hickory LeadShine EL7 Retrofit

Finished wiring the new drive today. Also removed the existing CHNC turret encoder and got the drive and servo tuned using Leadshines Motion Studio software.
