Re: Hardinge CHNC4 Retrofit
Hi Lavrgs, just curious, does it blow the fuse with every thing unhooked?

Re: Hardinge CHNC II+ Hickory LeadShine EL7 Retrofit
Started setting up some tool offsets and doing some dimensioning tests. Started out trying the DP-1 probe and found it to trip very accurately. When I hit it multiple times it almost always lands on the same number down to the tenth in both X and Z. When using it to measure tools it seems to work ve...

Re: Hardinge CHNC II+ Hickory LeadShine EL7 Retrofit
Question about encoder cable. Once the rest of the retrofit is complete I am planning to retrofit the air driven tool turret with a servo motor. I am using Leadshine EL7 drives and servos with absolute encoders. The encoder cable already has the motor connector on it and it is impossible to get it ...

Re: Hardinge CHNC II+ Hickory LeadShine EL7 Retrofit
Getting pretty close, just about everything has been tested and is working like it should. I got the chip conveyor turning on and off from the macro today. I put a little video in the photo album along with a picture of the complete high voltage cabinet. It isn’t all bright and shiny, but after all ...

Re: Hardinge CHNC II+ Hickory LeadShine EL7 Retrofit
Can you enable the MPG by pressing the yellow "MPG" button on the Virtual Control Panel? If you do so, does the handwheel then work to move the selected axis? I think that maybe the only thing missing is to automatically enable the MPG when you turn the axis selector knob from "OFF&q...

Re: Hardinge CHNC II+ Hickory LeadShine EL7 Retrofit
Have you checked to see if it is incremental mode? Mine was that way. Also the default feedrate was 1% 8-( Assuming you mean the incremental button on the VCP. It jogs fine with the + & - buttons on the pendent. Not quite sure how to tell what the default feed rate is, it is set a 100*% on the ...

Re: Hardinge CHNC II+ Hickory LeadShine EL7 Retrofit
Making a little progress, got the parts catcher and vertical cutoff slide working and added a couple of short videos to the photo album. I am having a problem with the WMPG-6 hand wheel. I have noticed some others that have had similar issues where the hand wheel would only move the axis in 1X and i...

Re: Hardinge CHNC II+ Hickory LeadShine EL7 Retrofit
It is difficult to find information on that probe in general it seems. I found the manual for it but that is about all. There may be some issues with lower spring stiffness causing inaccuracies when using a touch probe meant for tip down vertical use in a horizontal arrangement. We only recommend T...
