Re: New Build - Starting from scratch with a Weiss VM25L (G0704)

@cnckeith - The previously mentioned issue was me not knowing I had the settings set to move in .001 increments and I was expecting to be able to land on .0001 at will pretty much. I changed the settings to .0001 and now I can adjust to any number I like however I discovered I think I have my gibs a...

Re: New Build - Starting from scratch with a Weiss VM25L (G0704)

what do you mean by "i adjusted that out" Good afternoon. In the settings for lash comp. I first verified and made sure my motor revs were accurate and then set an indicator on the x, y and z axis and went one full rotation to zero on the dial and then backed off in the other direction no...

Re: New Build - Starting from scratch with a Weiss VM25L (G0704)

I have measured it several times trying to get as precise as possible. All 3 axis are .0025 and I adjusted that out. I used several vids but this one mainly.

Re: New Build - Starting from scratch with a Weiss VM25L (G0704)

Oh, and one more question. I have no idea how to install a limit switch on the rotary (W for me) so it will not home so I used your guide to disable W and it homes fine. No issue now but when I finally get around to using the 4th axis I will need to figure this out.

Re: New Build - Starting from scratch with a Weiss VM25L (G0704)

Keith, after tweaking the parameters (after watching the awesome video from Marty's Garage and 1 2 3 blocks) this machine seems almost perfect....almost lol. I have a strange thing happening that may be normal but I have no idea so I hope you (or anyone else of course) can shed some light on it. Whe...

Re: Some recent stuff dialing everything in:

Designing some slide work in Fusion and decided to test it first on some 440 stainless before pulling the trigger (photoshopped it on the slide also just to see if it will look ok) on the slide. I think it came out pretty good. It was a lesson in the limits of my end mill with radius corners. I had ...

Re: New Build - Starting from scratch with a Weiss VM25L (G0704)

sounds like tool offset issue? or misunderstanding on tip placement of tool for the 360 chamfering cycle Thanks! I have not set any offsets yet but I did number all the tools preparing to do that, I bet the number for that tool has one and I did not realize it or I used that one the play with. Than...

Re: Some recent stuff dialing everything in:

Excellent looking engraving, what tool and what depth? Great job, Gary. Thank you Gary! The first one and what I finally settled into is a 3/32 2F carbide end mill. The Other and one I can push harder is a 1.5mm tapered ball. I have been running them @ 15 inch per min with 2 passes at .002 each for...

Re: New Build - Starting from scratch with a Weiss VM25L (G0704)

Yes sir, I did. https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=9897 I had a strange thing happen. In F360 a chamfering process looked good in simulation, and the gcode seemed fine also. When I ran the op, it plunged .900 too deep and crashed hard. I repeated it several times and it kept doing...
