Re: Slow Parking speed

I don't know if the above post was intended for me, but my v5.06 Wizard screen shows nothing to the right of "Edit park.mac".

Re: Slow Parking speed

No problem, it's all sorted, though it's a mystery what I did to make the VCP and F1 Park commands act different.

Re: Gantry squaring - purely manual or CNC12-assisted?

So my gantry issues appear to be solved. I stand my my theory that any gantry-style machine using two servos will have issues unless some sort alignment is done at each power up - handling each end of the gantry separately. Even an infinitely stiff gantry will eventually have problems in the form of...

Re: Slow Parking speed

Oh that's odd. You're right, it does work the same as the F1 Park on the exit menu.. now. When I tried Park on the VCP it moved really slow, but the Park on the exit menu moved very fast and overran the limit switches. Hmm.

Re: Slow Parking speed

Thanks, Uwe, I see the offsets now.

So what does the yellow Park button on the main screen do, if the real Park function is only activated by the F1 on the exit tabs?

Re: Slow Parking speed

Another self-solved issue, sort of. There is a yellow button in the upper-right corners labeled "Park". If activated, it starts what appears to be a Park function, but is moving at the slow homing speed (I never waited around for it to finish). Meanwhile, under the Power Down tab, is anoth...

Slow Parking speed <setting is in the Wizard>

I'm using v5.06. The User Manual says that the default Parking speed is "Rapid." Mine is not and appears to be using the regular homing speed. I know the macro can be edited, but for now I'm using the default function. Is this something that was changed as part of a version upgrade and the...

Re: Units question on setting up auto homing/squaring

The units do change with system configuration. Using the wrong units can cause confusion because the squaring function can twist the gantry enough that after its first use, it may cause the master side to trip first instead of the slave. So if during your setup, auto-squaring is not only failing but...

Units question on setting up auto homing/squaring -Resolved

I have CNC12 configured for metric units, and Auto Homing/squaring is being set up in the Wizard. Rather than finding out the hard way, are the units for Master Axis Squaring/Alignment Distance, Feedrate of Homing Movements, and Home Switch Deadband Distance the same units as CNC12 is configured for?

Re: Gantry squaring - purely manual or CNC12-assisted?

The difference in how we're looking at this is that you're saying a stiff gantry is always square. I'm not arguing that, I'm saying that if it's homed using only one switch on one side - calling it "homed" based on the first switch it reaches - the two servos will end up fighting each othe...
