Being new to this, I suspect this is an elementary issue, but don't want to risk wasted material: This is the first time that I have to change cutters mid-job on my CNC router. Oh I completely agree on how long it takes to do a simple operation. Right now I'm diving into learning the entire workflow from CAD to CAM to feeding the machine. What I'm trying to make would have been done many weeks ago had I just used the manual mill, but I'm in this to learn. CNC is brilliant ...

If/when I do a manual mill-to-CNC conversion, I'll retain the knobs and handles so that quick one-off jobs can still be performed. Many conversion kits I see do away with the handle which is a no-go-in my mind, detracting from versatility and flexibility.
