Re: Mitsubishi Freqrol A500
i think you are out of luck, you need a servo system to do that not a vfd

Re: Servo drive shutdown
i had a 436 servo drive alarm on my control last year, when i powered it up after a few years of idle time. turned out to be a bad cpu10 card. There was no light output from fiber #4 transmitter. you could pull off fiber #4 and look for a red light from the led.

Re: Retrofits Maho MH400E, Fusion 350 and 4/5 Axis
i believe with oak the scales are only a second measuring system, you will still need an encoder signal to oak as the primary feedback, can you tap an encoder signal out of the indramat drives?

Re: Retrofits Maho MH400E, Fusion 350 and 4/5 Axis
you most likely have siemens or indramat drives and servos. most of the siemens stuff of that era used hall effect feedback to the drive, so you will have to add an incremental encoder to each servo for the oak board in addition to the scales

if anyone is interested, i have found BEI makes exactly what is needed, its called SWIFTCOMM wireless encoder interface.

Re: Servo Motors missing input signal & making clunking sound
there is nothing wrong with his zero max servo couplings, i have used them with excellent results with high end siemens motors and controls with no problems

Re: Potential Acroloc Conversion (Comments Appreciated)
why do you think the drives would be too old?
the old drives are probably +/- 10 volt analog velocity drives, an oak is supposed to operate velocity or position drives, you would just have to add encoders for the cnc

wireless scale feedback, has anyone tried it?
Hello I am interested in the feasibility of mounting a scale on a boring mill facing head and using a battery pack to power it and some type of transmitter to provide wireless feedback to a receiver that would be connected to an oak board encoder port. Has anyone attempted this and if it worked can ...
