Re: Centroid Operator Control Panel Interface Board: USB-BOB

I don't need Spindle Speed Override or Feed Rate Override or Rapid Rate Override, so can I reuse those three rotary encoders
[ Rotary Encoder Assembly (P/N: 15399) x 3 ]
as the Manual Pulse Generators (MPGs) and just connect their wires into the MPG sockets?
Can the momentary button feature of ...

Re: Does this kind of wired MPG work with Acorn?

Question to centroid467:
With this upcoming BOB, can you use a 6 terminal MPG (+5V, 0V, A, B, /A, /B) and just not hookup the /A, /B terminals and use it as a 4 terminal MPG? Or must one specifically buy only a 4 terminal +5V, 0V, A, and B MPG?

Re: Dual-Mode controller (or motor)?

Thank you Uwe.
Those are perfect - I will investigate further.
I was hoping for a 1ph 120V solution, but maybe there is no such thing.

Re: Dual-Mode controller (or motor)?

Thanks for the reply Uwe!
You said you used JMC because they allow software switching from 0-10 voltage input to puls/dir input https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=62805#p62805
and they have Zri homing.
I quick looked at Leadshine but they have gone over to ethernet input only, so that wont ...

Thanks cnckeith!
Uwe points to JMC servo driver and servo motor as being able to drive in dual-mode.

Dual-Mode controller (or motor)?

I came across this schematic posted on Dec 11 2023 https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersupport/schematics/uploads/s15220.r1.pdf
that shows a "Dual-mode AC Drive" hookup. But I can't find what or where a dual-mode ac drive is, either on Centroid, acorn forum or google.
What is it?
I think it sounds ...

Re: 4 axis simultaneous mill moves

I think I may have answered my own question.
The simultaneous X Y Z A moves do work but only in G01 not in G00.

4 axis simultaneous mill moves

Hi -
I have an Acorn 4.64 board and installed the Pro mill software to do simultaneous 4 axis milling (vertical knee mill).
Everything is setup and working, except I'm not getting simultaneous Z movement.
When I program for instance: G00 X1 Y1 Z1 A20 it moves X and Y and A simultaneously but only ...

Re: installing and setting up a c axis

Thankyou Uwe.
Clearpath says about the enhanced resolution option:

—For the SDSK, MCPV, and SCSK models, the Enhanced option provides position setting capability of 1/32000th of a revolution. The Regular option is 1/4000th. The Enhanced option also increases the available RAS (jerk limiting ...
