Re: Hardinge HNC Reduex 2

Presuming you mean that INP16, on the Alt-i display, changes from Green to Red when you trip the X+ limit switch, then the next step is to make sure that you have entered "16" as the X+ limit input number, on the Machine Configuration -> Motor Parameters table. Yes that is what I meant. T...

Re: Hardinge HNC Reduex 2

I confirmed with a meter that I have continuity from the switch to the input, the LED confirms that, but wanted to make sure the wiring was correct.

Re: Hardinge HNC Reduex 2

Ok, following the Centroid Hardinge Retrofit Manual rev 041104 I see I should be checking for limits and home to be set to 1 for Z-, 2 for Z+, 3 for X- and 4 for X+. Not sure where to see this as referenced. If they mean Inputs 1 to 4 , I find them as inputs 13 to 16, which lines up with the paramet...

Re: Hardinge HNC Reduex 2

Working on X- (8LS) and X+ (7LS) limit switches today. This lathe is equipped with the X home (9LS) switch but it is not hooked up. Looking at the drawings that came with the lathe it was not even called out. Well the yellow wire is called out, but go to an empty spot on the terminal block. Anywho.....

Re: Hardinge HNC Reduex 2

Everything seems to be working now. I had to do a factory reset in the VFD and go over the settings. Also moved a few wires once I got a better grasp on what had to go with what. Spindle works. X and Z both work. Turret indexer works. Collet closer works. I do need to check the limit switches since ...

Re: Hardinge HNC Reduex 2

I couldn't take it any longer. I hit Run on the VFD. Motor ran. Was a little loud on the chirping. Then I read thst the motor playe info needed to be entered before starting the motor. Got that info in the best I could. Read somewhere about the Autotune. Got that ran. Still hearing a chirpping as th...

Re: Hardinge HNC Reduex 2

Well looky there....the answer is right in the first pic I took with the terminals in it.

Now why are the instruction manual showing a different layout as to what is on the VFD?

Re: Hardinge HNC Reduex 2

TECO Tech from the supplier I bought my VFD from is being slow to respond to my question. Hopefully one of you can help. When I bought the drive it came with a wire jumper installed on the user terminals. I was not aware it was there until it dropped when I was loosening all the screws for the input...
