Re: Manual Tool Change with ATC - Ideas?
I don't know how Centroid handles it, but a lot of other machines, say you have a 12 station toolchanger, you call up any hand loaded tools as T13, T14, etc. the machine knows that means it waits for you to complete a manual tool change and then hit cycle start again. You can revert back to the tool...

Re: "Z axis Max Rate Exceeded" error
Your program feed rate is for 32 pitch, not 24. Can't help with the rest, but at 640rpm you are only moving 20ipm.

Re: Tree Journeyman 310 Journey
Marty helped me do a conversion on my Milltronics knee mill just a few weeks back. It is that simple, it does work that well.... We pulled it apart on a Friday and had it back together and running on Sunday, spent one more day sorting out a few things, and back to running parts. Look for the thread ...

Re: Milltronics to Centroid Control Upgrade
And an update from me... Marty was basically able to pull off the complete update in a weekend. We had to add the Quencharcs and the wiring to activate the brake upon e-stop, but that was minimal. We had been working on some parts prior to the swap, running 25 pieces for a product we make. After the...

Re: A couple of programming/procedures questions
Well, I'll use the M25 then. I don't type any different as I put this in my post processor and it's automatically inserted into the program.

Re: A couple of programming/procedures questions
Thanks for explaining that. I only use incremental in subprograms, so not sure that it would ever be an issue.

Re: A couple of programming/procedures questions
I noticed that M25 looks like it would do the same thing, not sure if one is better than the other.

Re: A couple of programming/procedures questions
Hi Keith, Already have it downloaded and read it numerous times. I sat in front of the machine today and played with some different combinations and settled on G53 Z0 as my command to send the Z axis to home for tool changes. I modified the existing program I have for the next operation on some part...

A couple of programming/procedures questions
I have been using Fanuc machines since the late 70's and we have alway been in the habit of programming a safe line, like G17 G20 G40 G80 G90, I know that most of these are the default for the machine, but I've been in the habit of putting that line in just in case I had changed to G18 or forgot to ...
