Hi Guys,
sadly my acorn is still sitting on a bench and I haven't been able to get past my fear of the 240V / 70Volt stuff in the box.
I really wish there was someone with a similar project nearby in Brisbane.
I really need to get my act together and get this machine working again.

Re: First project - another Chinese CNC on mach3
Thanks again cbb.
I missed that thread and I see you found a colour copy of the manual too.
Its all starting to make sense to me
Next task is pulling covers off the chassis an taking out the steppers. Planning on keeping these but need to work out the wiring as it is.

Re: First project - another Chinese CNC on mach3
Some info on the stepper drives: (mainly marketing stuff, still looking for product tech info) but the print on the unit is probably enough to work off :) Looking at this, the drives are set up for half current 2000 steps per rev. 1)High performance, low price, low noise, excellent stability 2)Featu...

Re: First project - another Chinese CNC on mach3
Thanks for the advice cbb. I am trying to get my head around the bench testing. There's a lot of lethal voltage stuff in my control box. I guess I could remove the steppers from the machine, run the cables to the drivers but leave them connected to the 70V transformer(?) in the box. Again - all advi...

First project - another Chinese CNC on mach3
Hi all. here is the machine I am going to convert. I have had it for about 4 years on mach 3 with the original XHC controller. It never worked well from the day it arrived. Sadly, I thought it was just me but I couldn't produce 2 parts the same if my life depended on it. After letting it collect dus...

Re: Converting Chinese CNC Router from XHC Mach3 Motion Controller
Hi slodat (and everyone else). I think I'll be rereading this thread over a few times. I have a chinese built 1200 x 1200 with a very similar setup to yours. It has an older version of the XHC , Fuling vsd, Yako 2608h drivers. The wiring looks more complicated than yours for some reason but that mig...
