Re: Acorn Six
I'm curious to hear recommendations here too. I'm building out an Avid with Acorn. Avid ships with NO Pepprl-Fuchs sensors. I'm trying to go NC, but I'm finding them much less available than NO for any given geometry. I understand why NC is preferred theoretically, but if you have to jump through ho...

It might also be different proximity sensors. Glad you found the fix.

Re: homing travels in wrong direction
To tblough's point, something turnkey (like the Axiom I used to have) is going to be a lot better choice for some people. It doesn't have anything near the functionality the Acorn has, but that's part of its charm. You just feed it GCode and it does its thing. Some folks aren't going to be wired for...

Re: Add on laser, need opinions
I use my lasers a lot. I have three Opt laser heads, each has its own advantages. I also had a J Tech when I first started. I think the overall build quality on the Opt lasers are much better than the J Tech 4.4W laser I had. But the company is in Poland so parts and support are a little more diffic...

Re: The Centroid CNC PC Tuner v1.0 has been released.
Is there a way to run the PC Tuner without going through the whole upgrade setup routine (copying files, Wizard Util., etc.)?

Re: New KP3 Probe Setup Problem
Does the red light on the probe body turn red when you trip the probe? That should work fine if the wiring is correct. When I've had problems like this it has been related to how the Inputs were set to NO or NC. Hit Alt-i (PLC Diagnostic App) and observe whether the input virtual LED is triggered, a...

Re: Laser Software for Acorn
https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=5431 Sword's process works great with Lightburn. I find Vectric to be a little more 'stable', but Lightburn is much more powerful. I occasionally see laser misfires with Lightburn where the laser apparently fires during G0. I've added another ste...

Re: spindlecoolingfan on m37
M37 is the M-code for laser enable. That hasn't changed. It's hard to know what's changed without a report file. The assignment of a couple of AUX keys has changed from 4.82 to current version, so it's possible that may be a cause. I use spin_brake to trigger the cooling pump on my machine since I a...

Re: Rail system
I had a machinist friend put the headstock and tailstock on aluminum plates. Bolts going through the plates fasten to aluminum 'feet' that just fit in the extrusion slots of my deck. So I just loosen the bolts and slide the tailstock up the extrusion slots. It works very well. The headstock is almos...
