Re: Z axis homing issue on new ALLIN1DC
On the Allin1DC, INP1 - INP6 are not just PLC inputs; they are also directional current inhibits for the DC servo amplifier section.
Because of that, the Z axis output will not apply positive-direction current if INP6 is open, regardless of what your CNC12 software may say.
That is why you also ...

Re: Z axis homing issue on new ALLIN1DC
You have direction reversal on for that axis which means that the input wires must be swapped physically and the input numbers reversed as well.
Simple enough, thank you!
I reversed that axis obviously because it was going the wrong direction. I never considered I would have to swap wires and ...

Z axis homing issue on new ALLIN1DC <resolved>
I replaced an old M15 console with a new ALLIN1DC and I am having an issue I can't seem to solve with the Z axis.
All axis limits are wired and working. Z jogs up and down fine. I am homing "Z" in the positive direction to the Z+ limit switch (Input 6).
-IF I have Input 6 as +Limit & Home+ input ...

Re: M15DRV1 board level troubleshooting
Thank guys. I verified all fans good as I also figured it was heat related.
This morning I powered up & just let it sit without running. About 2 hours later it started in with estop, and overtravel alarms again just sitting there.
I opened the console and felt everything, nothing was even "warm"
I ...

Re: M15DRV1 board level troubleshooting
A little closure (for now) on this topic. I put the M15 back together yesterday and it ran all day & started right back up again this morning. Maybe a dirty connection on the plug going into the M15DRV1 board? Maybe a broken wire that I got moved just right during disassembly/reassembly??
This ...

Re: M15DRV1 board level troubleshooting
All Linux (CNC10) software versions have the Alt-i display. It was introduced in the DOS (CNC7) software, in v8.00.
Thank you! I am not sure why I thought that didn't exist on the old Linux controllers. I just brought it up on the two that I am still running.

Re: M15DRV1 board level troubleshooting
Old Linux controller, so no Alt-I. No alarms on the other limits though. I can hit those limit switches and they show an alarm and then clear when I let off the switch, so they seem to be working.
Does the M15 have limit defeat switches? I am familiar with those on the ALLIN1DC and OAK, not sure ...

M15DRV1 board level troubleshooting
Hi everybody. This is probably a long shot, but...
I have an old M15 controller that just developed a problem stating the Z+ limit is tripped.
I have verified the switch is closed, verified all the way to the console plug.
I have also verified the wiring from the console plug to the solder joint on ...

Don't know where you are geographically, but I don't know how you could get a project much cheaper than this.

Re: Encoder Error
Has there been any resolution to this other than a new board for Greg82?
