Re: Using mechanical and ZRI/Proximity switches for homing a lathe
It is possible that this error was rectified in version 4.8. When I was having the fatal error I was on 4.62 I believe. Upgraded a few days later. I recently installed the ball screws and home/limits on the lathe. Due to the low gearing of the axis I had to slow down the feed rate to 2.5 in the home...

Re: Need Help - Strange behaviors <communication errors>
So I went through all of the steps in all of the above and didn't find anything that helped. I upgraded to 4.8 and ran a stress test that failed. I ran across a post that mentioned that intel ethernet adapters need a setting changed for them to work. under the advanced tab, "speed and duplex&qu...

Re: Need Help - Strange behaviors
I am having a similar situation with my lathe. Just upgraded to a new control box and teknic SDK servos. Ever since the upgrade, I get random occasional situations when jogging with either the wireless mpg or VCP that the jogging will not stop when the button is released. Since it happens with the m...

Re: Using mechanical and ZRI/Proximity switches for homing a lathe
After a few hours of testing, failures and successes, I think I figured out what is going on with the fatal error. Even if I set the wizard to not overwrite my home file and then actually changing the home file, when I go back into the wizard the setting has reverted back to the default and I get th...

Re: Using mechanical and ZRI/Proximity switches for homing a lathe
OMG!!! I failed to get my ZRI .hom file copied to the cnct directory, so my last post is wrong. The ZRI home file is definitely causing the fatal error when starting the wizard. with the default .hom file wizard opens. with the attached .hom file i get the fatal error when opening the wizard. I will...

Re: Using mechanical and ZRI/Proximity switches for homing a lathe
I just reverted back to the original .hom file and now the wizard opens. I went through the settings and found that, during the troubleshooting of ZRI homing, I had forgotten to change the setting to prevent the wizard from overwriting the .hom file. It seems that when there is a custom .hom file an...

Re: Using mechanical and ZRI/Proximity switches for homing a lathe
I realize this is not a ZRI issue but it is related to why I could not get it to work. I am not unable to open the wizard. I get a fatal error message stating that the wizard cannot open when a job is running or it is in MIDI mode. neither is true. reinstalled CNC12 again and restored the report wit...

Re: Using mechanical and ZRI/Proximity switches for homing a lathe
Everything seems to be right in the code that I edited from Chris’s example. It matches what cnc12 produces for a standard .hom file with my setup in regards to the #5000 and inputs. It still will not stop when input 1, homeall, is triggered on x. It does on z however. Directions should not matter a...

Re: Assign NoFaultOut signal to multiple output relays
This is a pretty old thread but I thought I would post a solution that I came up with for a similar situation. I needed a no fault out for 2 separate reasons. The main one was for the EStop contactor for the axis drive power. This contactor is energized by a 24VDC coil that is switched through an ac...
