I'm hesitant to put more money into it if I haven't even gotten it to spin yet
What motors and drivers did you go with?
Did you get the factory encoder to work?

Page22 shows the wiring terminals but none of it seems to make sense to me as to where it goes on the acorn board and which are/not needed

I found that video yesterday and it seems very helpful. Any idea what size motors I should go with? Also I remember people used to have to put a resistor in the plugs for the g540 that go to the steppers. Is that still needed?

This one seems way over my head as if I'm not already in over my head. I did (I think) want to copy the setup you had with the g540 and steppers just to keep it pretty straight forward and cost effective

Techno CNC lathe build help

Picked this up with an Acorn board but not sure where to start on the build. I'm not sure where to start
I wanted to use the OEM motors to keep things simple but not sure if thats the best plan. Ideally would love a plug n play setup but dont think thats happening either. Saw this video running ...
