Re: wrong tool number selected from ATC with intercon

Marc,
Thank you very much, I was just writing back to tell you I found the M18, but when I removed them the tool change just timed out.

You always have the answer! thanks for the quick reply

wrong tool number selected from ATC with intercon

hello all, I am having a strange issue when using a simple Intercon program to center drill, drill, ream, and tap generated via intercon. The tools go in order 3-6 and that's how the icn program is coded. however, the program does not select the proper tool and the tool it selects seems somewhat ran...

Re: Spindle Orientation for Tool Change (misalignment)

Marc, I was out of town for Christmas so I couldn't confidently give you an answer even though I was pretty sure it would not take the full 30 seconds. it seems however that the machine just needed another power cycle, because when I turned it back on to test it was working as expected with the time...

Re: Spindle Orientation for Tool Change (misalignment)

First off, Merry Christmas everyone! I was able to get the ATC aligned and consistently changing tools without issue. One lingering issue on the software side is a timeout error I get after the tool is ejected and the carousel is rotating to the next tool. If i go more than 9 slots to grab the next ...

Re: Spindle Orientation for Tool Change (misalignment)

disregard the last post, I think I figured it out. If anyone else has this issue, the problem was on my drive (yaskawa 626-vm3) I could only change the pulse number by an increment of no more than 5 pulses at once. for me it seems around 23-25 pulses per degree. hope this helps, now I might actually...

Re: Spindle Orientation for Tool Change (misalignment)

thanks for the info, the issue I have is when I try to modify the number of pulses in the parameter c2-01 (currently at 1590 pulses) I can change the number, but it will not accept the change when I hold data/enter like usual. it just flashes and if I exit the parameter and return I can confirm it d...

Spindle Orientation for Tool Change (misalignment)

Hello All, While I was investigating a different problem, I noticed some misalignment in the interface of my umbrella ATC and the tool holder in the spindle. The orient works fine, and it's consistent, but it's not in the correct position. The VFD I am using is pretty old, but it's a yaskawa 626VM3....

Re: rigid tapping invalid m function for m29

yeah you're right, I think I misspoke and that came from a different online source I was researching. I did program the drill and tap function in intercon, seems to work properly although I do need to do some tuning on stop time and such. in any case thanks for the helps and for the F360 Post proces...

Re: rigid tapping invalid m function for m29

thanks so much Tom! this is a great resource to have. I just figured if I was using the fanuc post processor in F360 it wouldn't matter. the M29 was mentioned in the tech bulletin but I was unaware it was phased out. there's a flag in the post processor that asks to use rigid tapping too. in any cas...
