Re: Analog spindle signal
On one test, I measured directly at the board (no cable) on the other the cable was not connected to VFD, but run through capacitor. Both had the same 0.93V reading.

Re: Analog spindle signal
Yes, l use a shielded, twisted pair of wires for the analog signal. With regard to original post, I have now grounded all cable shields and installed caps on the analog signal. However, I still get the same problem when testing the signal - 0.93V when it should be 1.67V. For a lark, I ran the spindl...

Re: Analog spindle signal
If you are talking about VFD cabling, I used automation direct: Southwire VFD cable, 4 conductors (includes ground), 16 AWG, cross linked polyethylene (XLPE) conductor insulation material, overall foil and braid shielded, TPE jacket,

Re: Analog spindle signal
I take it the two caps and resistor are similar to the attached lower circuit diagram? And thanks Nigel.

Re: Analog spindle signal
Not being an electronics whiz by any means, I am not sure where and how you connected your filter. Could you share a circuit diagram? Thanks again.

Re: Analog spindle signal
Yes, no and no. Sounds like I need to ground and add a cap. Thanks.

Analog spindle signal
I just received an Acorn swap out board. Ran a bench test along with the analog spindle signal test routine per Marty's video. Everything checked out fine (see first report, 1:36 pm). Then I set up the board per my machine (see 2nd report, 1:52pm) and reran the analog signal out again and this time ...

Re: VCP buttons do not move correct axes, redux
Marty, I assume you meant on the VCP buttons. I just removed the lines of code for the excess A buttons on VCP on axis 3 (although they all worked correctly). That along with what CNCSNW suggested seems to have solved the problem. The MDI problem apparently was a temporary glich and went away with a...

Re: VCP buttons do not move correct axes, redux
OK, true, but previously the MDI worked correctly. That leads me to believe there is an intermittent problem as I have not changed the wiring from when they worked correctly with the MDI. So how is it that the VCP buttons can command correct moves (now after value reassignment), but MDI cannot? That...
