Re: Hickory ATC PLC

One easy way to use the default Umbrella ATC PLC program is to install CNC12 and select the Oak/ALLIN1DC option in the installer. This will install the version that does not use the Wizard and you will be given the option to install the Hickory Mill Umbrella ATC PLC program.

Without the Wizard ...

Re: Seeking Help with Merging Acorn Controller with Morbidelli N50 CNC

Hello, and welcome to the forums.

First and foremost, you have the Mechatrolink variant of the drives. Those will not work with Acorn or our other controllers. To reuse the motors, you would need to swap them out for analog/pulse input models. Your drives are SGDV-1R9D 11 A but you need SGDV-1R9D ...

Re: VFD wiring help! Omron 3G3M1 vs Delta MS300

Those are both pretty standard VFDs and either should work for running a 400Hz router spindle. They both have configurable inputs and outputs so you'd need to read the manual to figure out how to assign the functions. This being a router, you probably do not need to worry about wiring for reverse ...

Re: Hickory/ LS drives /Bench test, Will not Jog

I don't see anything clearly incorrect in your report.

Could you please upload the parameter file from the drive? The description of AL-56 in the drive manual covers a lot of possible issues.

If it was controlled successfully from the CM software then I would guess that it is not a wiring issue ...

Re: Double Check my VFD wiring!

Wait a minute... Sorry about that, I made a mistake here.

You do not need to connect DCM to the COM on H9. It is fine and probably recommended to leave those common (logic grounds) separated. S15008 shows no connection between COM/Acorn power supply V- to DCM.

The rationale here is that the VFD ...

Re: Double Check my VFD wiring!

Aside from the incorrect labeling in the table, the main issue is that DCM needs to connect to the COM on Acorn H9.

Other than that, it should be good.

Re: VFD wiring help! Omron 3G3M1 vs Delta MS300

Digital GND (DCM on the VFD headers) goes to the return/common of the Acorn's power supply or separate PLC power supply. It is also labeled COM on Acorn H9. (If you have multiple power supplies i.e. one to power the Acorn and another to power the PLC inputs/outputs, then their common terminals need ...

Re: Re-Build: AcornSix Plasma/Drill/GasTorch Proposed Retrofit

Thanks for your reply centroid467

I don't think the gas torch needs to be position controlled as such but rather have some speed control. As it is, the speed is too fast when the motor is just powered with 24VDC via a relay, as in ON/OFF. Probably the easiest way to solve the problem is to use a ...

Re: Choosing the correct board for my project. (Hardinge Cobra 42)

I appreciate your input on this. Sorry for the late response here. I ended up just calling Centroid and talking with sales. We ordered a hickory board and some new drives and servos. Installation is underway.

That's all good! It would be awesome if you document the build (create a build thread ...
