Re: Server motorsport run after update of CNC 12
Hello Steve, There should be a page in the Wizard under "DB25 Connector" labelled "Mapping". There will be a drop down menu to select DB25 or Screw Terminal near the top of the page. See page 95 in the ACORN installation manual for some nice pictures: https://www.centroidcnc.com/...

Re: Server motorsport run after update of CNC 12
Hello, I am taking a look at your report and I see that your CPU (Core 2 Duo P7570) is below our minimum requirements for good performance. However, I do not believe that is your main issue here. As it has been a while since the machine was last used, I would go through and verify that all the wirin...

Re: New build - Novakon Pulsar
Hello, If the spindle driver outputs differential quadrature encoder signals and the servo is belted 1:1 with the spindle then yes you should be able to use it for rigid tapping. If it is not belted 1:1 then you will need an encoder that is belted 1:1 with the spindle. Yes, there are gear ratio para...

Re: Can Centroid Control this?
Hello, I've seen some DC motors with both tachogenerator feedback and encoder feedback. I see a lot of references to "measuring system" inputs on the controller and they sure look a lot like encoder inputs to me. The language in the manual suggests that they are linear encoders on the axes...

Re: Can Centroid Control this?
I believe you would be able to control these with an Oak in velocity mode. The wiring would probably be a little annoying since it looks like you'll have to wire the encoders directly to the Oak rather than to the drive. From reading the manual, I would try wiring like this for velocity mode: pin 1 ...

Re: Centroid Operator Control Panel Interface Board: USB-BOB
Connected now. What I found out ist that the 5m extension is only working with max. 0.5m primary USB cable. Makes sense, because by standard USB2.0 is limited to 5m. Will the first Opcon work after update also? Uwe We're not planning on breaking existing OPCON functionality. USBBOB uses an expanded...

Re: Centroid Operator Control Panel Interface Board: USB-BOB
This was my (pre-caffeinated) thought. So does that mean I don't need the resistor at all in this case? If so, would I be better off wiring it like they outline, so that the LED power is controlled by the button, or would it be better to wire the LED directly to the USB-BOB's 5V and COM, and then t...

There is only analog control output on ACORN and ACORNSIX for spindles.

Re: Hardinge CHNC4 Retrofit
The only external drives supported by ALLIN1DC are Centroid. I know the DC1 works, not sure about AC/DC.
You should be able to use the gecko drives to try and move the thing at least. I'm sure you could figure out some way of giving it some commands.

Beautiful work as usual, Uwe. Soldering all the resistors is the price to pay for the versatility of those open collector outputs.
I do agree on how nice it is to work with cartridge style soldering irons. I recently got one for home and it is really nice how quickly it reaches temperature.
