Hey guys,
so here it is, my build-thread about my chinese-lathe cnc-upgrade :-) Besides my Weiler Condor, i also own an older Optimum D280x700 lathe, a "better chinese 11x27,5" lathe". And because you don't need two conventional lathes, i decided to upgrade that to CNC.
First, i will let you have a ...

While were are talking about cables and plugs... :D

These are the cables from AcornSix 5V Logic-Outputs to my TTL-Diff-converters, and to the drives.
The second cable is for some 24V-signals like Enable1, Enable2, Alarm, AlarmClear.
And i ...

M17x1 seems to be pretty common in this regards, most other manufacturers also use this thread. The only problem was, the thread on the ballscrew has been eroded, via EDM. So the surface is really rough and i had to give the thread a helpful hand the first two times i screwed that in.

Hello Aurelien,
nice work!
Can you tell/show me, where your sensors are placed exactly in X and Z? I only saw the one sensor for the tailstock?
And just to mention:
Heat-sinks should always be placed vertically, so that the warm, uprising air can flow all the way through the whole sink.

Questions before writing the list of wishes...
Hey guys,
i wish you all a healthy new year! 8-)
I made the decision to "cnc" my chinese lathe, an Optimum D280x700 (today model TU2807), an "slightly above average quality" 11x27,5inch lathe.
But before starting the build-thread for it, i have to make some detailed decisions, that i want to ...

Re: Acorn and Emcoturn 120 with 8-tools-turret
I can't tell you how to wire that thing to your db25 ;-)
As i said, i used the diagram s15006.r1, that is inside the folder \Centroid CNC\ATC-files_centroid_acorn_v460_lathe_universal\ATC Instructions\Lathe_Turret_Gray_Code_1_Output
That means, the outputs of the turret go to the Inputs In1-In4 of ...

Re: Wrong tool-offset calculation with Emcoturn 120 ( Rear Tool-Turret)
Uhm, i'm not sure if i get it right now.
Does the rear-tool-measuring work now? I understood it still does not?
Sorry for getting back that late, but the workload in my regular job exploded the last few weeks...

Re: Wrong tool-offset calculation with Emcoturn 120 ( Rear Tool-Turret)
There is also another math bug.
Setting a tool to X0 with manual measure and rear approach it adds 2x Parameter 281, front approach is ok.
So I have to measure with front approach, and after measuring it set it back to rear approach.

Re: WMPG warning!
I'm sure Centroid could add a reminder screen, after pressing F9, that we can add custom messages to. :D
You could place that message on the windows background picture. If you exit CNC12, it becomes visible.
But if you use "Power Off" instead of "Exit CNC12" it would only be visible for a short ...

Re: Wrong tool-offset calculation with Emcoturn 120 ( Rear Tool-Turret)
Any news on this topic? Could you reproduce that behaviour on your Centroid-Test-Lathe?
