This would be a retrofit for a 4x8 starlab, the gantry is pretty stout. Mine is an older unit all the new ones come with clearpath, I can upgrade via starlab but don't want anymore to do with CandCNC electronics. Plus with DMM I should be able to do this quite a bit cheaper than mfg upgrade price ...

Nice! I have a starlab and am thinking of making the switch to Acorn also. Did your table already have the Clearpath servos, and gear reduction? Or did you add that when you went to the acorn system? Also looks like you are using prox switches for your Z, and limits? Did you migrate from Command CNC ...

I was thinking the DYN4's. I am assuming they are cheaper? I was looking at that thread last night, so that may factor into my final decision also.

Yep saw that, I am interested in using DMM servos on my retrofit, that is why I posted!

Hoping you document this as well as your clearpath servo build! So I can use it as a blueprint!
