Sorry, should really have started a different thread to not get my question confused with the thread title. Was looking at the options in the post by cncsnw. viewtopic.php?f=60&t=2057&start=10#p14309
Setting the remote directory does nothing for the "F2 Load" default location and I do have the No_Job_Loaded set, which isn't the issue.
When you hit F2/Load, it opens the Windows "Select a file" dialog to \ncfiles as default every time. I'd like to set a different folder than that one.
Thanks,
Scott
Did you read the manual section I suggested? I think it used F3.....

Remote Drive & Directory
This field sets up the remapped default drive and directory for the F3 - Remote key in the Load Job screen. This allows you to conveniently load files from an attached computer via LAN network (via RJ-45Ethernet connection). The Control will usually remap the attached computer’s C: hard drive as drive E:,depending on the way it was set up.
No F3 in the F2/Load screen. It's not a LAN attached PC.
What I want and default screen snips...
Edit- What I actually would like is for it to remember the last folder I went to, much in the same way most Windows programs behave.

put a short cut to your remote drive in the NCFILES folder and or Pin it to the quick access area in Win 10 file explorer.

As shown, it is pinned to the QA. That's not the issue or the desired action.
Example... A job that may have several ops and it happens to be in the my parts\Zxxxx folder. Every time you have to go back to that folder for the next op, you have to back out of the default location or QA to the desired folder and then drill down to the Zxxxx folder again and again and again (3 ops ).
So, it's not possible. Or perhaps turn the ncfiles folder into a symbolic link? Or just delete all the unneeded files in the ncfiles folder and start using that as my parts folder. Still, that won't take you to the last used folder, which is the end goal.

From page 271 in the user manual
15.1 User Specified Paths
Operators can now specify paths for INTERCON files, posted INTERCON files, Digitize files and CAD
files. These paths are specified in pathm.ini. This file is automatically generated by the CNC software if it
does not exist. The default pathm.ini file is:
intercon path=C:\intercon\
icn post path=C:\cncm\ncfiles\
digitize path=C:\cncm\digitized_data\
cad path=C:\cncm\ncfiles\
chamb dig path=C:\cncm\digitized_data\
chamb dig setup path=C:\cncm\digitized_data\
auto dig setup path=C:\cncm\digitized_data\
Is this what you are looking for? You can't make it the last used folder, but you can make it something different that ncfiles.

Thanks for taking the time to do that Keith.
I said to myself that I was done with this for today, but like a dog with a bone.....
I found that if you open Windows File Explorer and go to 'View/Options/Change folder and search options' and check 'Show frequently used folders in Quick access' and for the fun of it, 'Clear file explorer history', the F2/Load windows select a file dialog will now remember your last loaded location. Seems to stick through restarts as well.
Yay!

cool! thanks for reporting back..
we may at some point add a load job path selection to the wizard, but your method is a good one.

If you choose the "Advanced" file menus (add 4 to Parameter 4), then the default directory will be the one the previous job was loaded from.
Does this still work? I couldn't make it work.
I went to F1 Setup => F3 Config => F3 Parms changed Parameter 004 from 9 to 13 - no effect.
I would very much like to have the default directory be the last opened file's directory (like it used to be) and NOT C:\cncm\ncfiles. Is there a way?

Sorry, I did not take the time to watch the above video to see that he was specifically talking about using the Windows file load dialog (adding 8 to Parameter 4).
The "Advanced" option is an option for the native Centroid file load screen. To use that screen, you would set Parameter 4 to a value of 5.0.
