Just read Intel is no longer planning to make the tiny little NUC computers, like we use on our machines.
They are going to encourage third parties to continue.
I imagine Centroid may want to start a list of which are good vs which to avoid.

We are aware of this and will evaluate alternative options (we periodically test other products, Intel has just always ended up the best option for the last several generations). There should be plenty of stock of the 11, 12 and 13th generation units for some time.

Re: Bummer... Intel stopping NUC computer production
There are dozens of 1L computers out there that cost MUCH LESS than the Intel NUC with the same performance. Maybe even better.

As long as the product meets our minimum PC specifications there is no issue with using one of the many other options out there.

Re: Bummer... Intel stopping NUC computer production
Yup, all the ones linked to on the forum meet the minimum PC requirements. I wouldn't recommend one that didn't. There are many, many 1L options from HP, Dell and Lenovo. Not to mention many others of Chinese decent. The NUC is way over priced for what it is compared to all the others available in my opinion.Centroid_Liviu wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 5:05 pmAs long as the product meets our minimum PC specifications there is no issue with using one of the many other options out there.

Re: Bummer... Intel stopping NUC computer production
On one of my Acorn systems I have a pre-owned Lenovo M700 mini PC, on the other I have a Chinesium NUC clone
https://www.gmktec.com/products/amd-ryz ... c-nucbox-9. They cost about the same but the NucBox 9 is more powerful and comes with W11 Pro. I can't say it's been formally validated to work with Centroid in any way but certainly there are options out there.
