Fusion 360 mill/turn and turn post processor non-existent! (use Intercon)

Post by frijoli »

I've been programming my Centroid mill with it.
I went to test a post for Acorn lathe and there is NO post processor for turning or Mill turning! Not just for Acorn but for Centroid as a whole.

While I can get away with this in the short term, long term it's going to be an issue. I will have live tooling on my lathe and it gets tedious programming it. Especially since I haven't programmed a lathe in 18 years.

If you guys are using Fusion, you need to put in a request there as well as with Centroid.

Clay, my buddy is testing my Dyna DM2400, and learning the Centroid software. He is also cutting his teeth on Fusion 360. He said there is a Centroid Post processor (1)?

There is one for milling. It works very well.
I haven't seen any lathe posts, and I can verify that the mill post processor fails when trying to output a turning sequence! lol

I am going to see if I can modify a Haas mill turn.
Not really into Javascript....

Clay

Edit: it looks like the HAAS mill/turn may be easy enough to replicate.

Ah, I see...
Maybe its easier to see which Posts work with Centroid Lathe.

My task for today. Convert a turning post processor for Centroid, and hopefully mill turn and test in the control. (since my lathe is still in pieces)
Also, drink some scotch. :)

I have the same issue to deal with down the road but with Dolphin Partmaster Lathe. The only reference I found says Fanuc 0T. I hope it's close enough to be able to make it work!

I am gaining ground! I have a post working about half way. It's showing in the graph, and it runs some of the code.

Started with Fanuc and Mach3.

Posted tested, adjusted, posted tested, adjusted, posted tested. Scratched my head... Now on to the scotch.

Just to be 100% clear, are you boys saying there is no PP for fusion 360 and acorn lathe?
