Millport with a M-60 controller?

Post by lilb93 »

Looking at a Millport with a M-60 Centroid controller. Cannot find any information about it. Maybe way to old?

Please email the serial number of the Centroid control to support@centroidcnc.com and they will be able to provide you with as much information as they possibly can. You can find the serial number using the attached tech bulletin.

I don't think 1272 was a Millport control.

Was that the number on the outside of the electrical cabinet door? Or was it on the PC case inside the electrical cabinet?

That is the serial number off the inside door on the electrical cabinet.
This was purchased new from East coast EDM in Willow Grove, PA.
The gentleman bought it new and used it in his shop making miniature train parts for 2 years, very little use.
Then he had the misfortune to have a stroke and never used it again.
It sat in his shop till he passed in 2014 and now his wife sold the house and wanted it moved out.
It is in super nice shape, I have all the manuals and original bill of sale.
It is 3 phase and the shop I want to put it in has single phase so I will have to get a VFD.
Will see what centroid says to see what all I need to update it to the windows 10.

It is definitely not a ca. 1998 M60. Compare the keyboard and jog panel.
Also compare the PLC I/O board with http://www.cncsnw.com/PLCs.htm#PLC1515.

I would guess it is a late (ca. 1992) CNC4-based stepper system, or a very early (ca. 1993) CPU7-based DC servo system.

Can you tell whether it has stepper motors, or DC brushed servo motors?

the numbers on the units are all the same, MAE HY 200-4270-710 A 8 then under that is 4 fasi - 7,1 A/fase - 0,23 0
They are MAE made in Italy

They are 1500 OZ steppers.
Guess an acorn would work on it?

Put power to it this morning and monitor booted up. Software is Version 1.52 whey back when....
Everything works except the driver board on the X axis, swapped the wires from Y to X and it works.
So I got to find a driver board for it.
